I was one of the dancers on this show. I remember the selection process. My partner and I practiced rehearsing regularly to appear on the tv shows produced in Century City 1978. We were “tapped” and moved to a higher dance platform. Then I was pulled aside to sit beside Davy Jones for the next introduction of performers. I thought him fresh to put his hand on my thigh without asking first.😮

These programs take me back to the times I was young inexperienced happy to have a friend to hit all the disco's August 28, 78 he was hit by lightning, I was devastated, didn't know what --- scared to go near his body my first brush with death. Times were very different then. It took decades and a rainy night, rain so hard it kept us (the person I got closer with, ran with a dear friend) from exiting the car to hear the words no intention (It was a close friend from my teens she knew because I told her so that no one was there ,he didn't show up, show tickets on the table i cried called a friend that lived a few blocks away and spent the night there. I eventually went to "Oil Cans" went out on the floor to dance by myself, the floor cleared and one by one they came up and danced with me, I was still in a daze. Watching these shows fills me in what was hapening at that time. More than 40 years gone by Im still dancing, dance a 10 15 min gig at an eatery where my Stag group gathers Friday nights it brightens me and the place. Occasionally in the last few years I spoke of this time someone asked me if there was anything on the internet, no i've looked, I looked again, it took some weeks of looking and looing again for my eyes and memory to clear, I began to recognize, wasnt sure, is that? Took a while to wake up oh yes oh thats me too hunh Thanks JK

Great show, great songs, sure are a lot of intrusive edits though. KZbin muted the first Carol Douglas song (which one?) even though the second and third of hers they thought were OK? What happened to the intro and the “Fire” lady? You didn’t list the last Bob McGilpin song “Moon Dancin’.”

Bob, remember that we recorded these for business purposes to evaluate the magnetic tape development for the VHS standard and didn't want commercials to play when we were viewing them at engineering meetings. So the commercials were edited On-the-Fly while recording was taking place. All the information listed about the songs is placed there by Google for the copyright holders. I have no control over it - adding, changing, or removing.

@@stephentaylor8461 Thanks for all your helpful clarifications; they make sense. Too bad there wasn't a disco archivist at the time anticipating something like internet and youtube 40 years later...but great you reached back and did what you could! :-)

It could also have something to do either the fact that the producers hand picked who they wanted on the show. Of course there were fat people in the 70s. Don’t be ridiculous
