garbage in cans, reruns (yep), day old baked goods, wood glue honestly? i don't watch a lot of comedy regularly, but i've been a weird al fan since i was like 6-7 (well, a fan of his pre-2004 material), i got into the bloodhound gang for a spell when i was 15 (got me into those DRRTY LYRICS), and then space ghost: coast to coast in high school, which shifted everything for me. i LOVE tim and eric, but people were saying that my buddy alex and i (regarding our old old vids) had a T+E vibe even before i watched a single thing they did (and for the record, my editor peter isn't actually a fan of theirs). they have undoubtedly influenced me big time since i began consuming all of their work, though. oh, and andy kaufman is the other giant one. i love him, he's my comedy hero. musically, i don't listen to much of anything these days. i grew up listening to mostly singles because that's all my dad liked (i think weezer's the blue album was the first album i ever liked from start to finish tbh). because i normally pull ideas out of my head at random (like i'm walking to the store and i sing a random melody + silly lyrics), i try to control what's going in so i don't accidentally rip things off. so there's none of the "throw music on in the background" for me. i want my listening to be deliberate, but after a full day of working on and listening to music, it's usually the last thing i wanna hear in the evening.
