The thing about Kevin Spacey, as a psychopath can fake any emotion and make it look genuine, but as a psychopath he often has trouble judging which emotion belongs in what situation. They also say that people with psychopathy can have difficulty reading non verbal ques like facial expressions and body language.

OP was somewhat correct but I will argue that the psychopathy of a person with a severe personality disorder can ‘fake’ the emotional responses isn’t so much acting as it is being socially acceptable. There’s quite a few people who fit this definition walking amongst us today, they’ve only managed to keep it in check with mimicking appropriate behavior. They know what they *SHOULD* be doing to be in civilized society, they just lack the ability to empathize and actually feel how they should with a functioning brain. I don’t doubt Spacey is likely acting, I mean, his character in Se7en? Seriously, I don’t know how far off his actual personality is from that of John Doe- the flat affect, emotionless coherence is chilling. I think that may very well have come from a very well known aspect of his being, and is why it is such a chilling performance.
