Excellent video! I finally broke down and jumped on the hot-foil-plate band wagon and purchased the Gemini FoilPress, which seems to be really hard to find lately - at least for a decent price. I think this is the first time I've seen someone use the metal shim, so thank you for that. 😃

Where did you get that GORGEOUS blush colored card stock that you’re using about 25 minutes in with the bougainvillea plate? I LOVE that color! I love my Gemini with reg dies is the cutting side with blade up or down on the purple base.

Blades will always face away from the purple platform.

It only makes a difference in the amount of pressure you need. If you’re using a thinner paper or lighter weight, you may find you need an extra card stock shim.

I’m about to invest in a foiling machine. I have a question about the Gemini Foilpress stamp n cut dies. Do these work with the spellbinders glimmer machine?

I haven’t tried those specific dies with the Glimmer.

You can. But you’re going to just cut on the foiled lines and you won’t see the foiling.

Did you order the European version on accident? It should come with the correct cord. I use the cord it came with.

I have been using the Gemini machine… using the same sandwich and process, the Gemini foil will work great but the spellbinder foil either doesn’t foil at all, or minimally. I have tried increasing the time heating and adding shims. I did not change the heat setting .. kept it on low…is that my problem?

I find with the Spellbinders foil the medium heat works best. Hope that helps.

Hi I bought the Gemini foil press based on this video and have had aweful results. I think it’s because I have the original Gemini die cutting machine. It cuts through all my projects and I’m beyond frustrated. Tried calling crafters companion and no help. Why do u like it better and does the jr die cut machine cut through your projects? Please help

I like it better because I get great results with it. It sounds like there is too much pressure in your sandwich. I would play with the plates and try to take out some thickness.

No. The glimmer system isn't compatible with the Gemini. The Gemini FoilPress is compatible with the Gemini Junior.
