In the '90s there was a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes ("William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet"). The joke in the movie was that they put on a production of THAT rather than of the original play. The song they sing after Juliet kills herself was from the soundtrack for the movie ("Lovefool" by The Cardigans).

Examples: "Want to be a big cop in a small town? F*** off up the model village" "You can't just make people disappear!" - "Yes I can, I'm the chief inspector" "Everyone and their mums are packing round here" - "Like who?" - "Farmers." - "Who else?" - "Farmer's mums"

This film references classic 1970s horror "The Wicker Man" - where a lone cop visits a remote Scottish village and ends up experiencing sheer terror "Oh God, no!" - that the whole town is in on. That cop is played by Edward Woodward who is the leader of the Neighbourhood Watch in this movie (whose last words are again "Oh God, no!") - so it's DEFINITELY deliberate. Three members of Lord of the Rings/Hobbit appear in this movie - all at the start. Peter Jackson plays "Father Xmas" who stabs Sgt Angel Cate Blanchett plays "Janine" - the forensic crime scene officer and ex Martin Freeman is the superior officer that orders Nicholas to Sandford Then. we have a who's who of English actors. Bill Nighy as the Chief of Police Timothy Dalton (a former James Bond) as Skinner Jim Broadbent of course Olivia Coleman as the saucy female cop, long before she won her Oscar for her serious roles Finally, you mentioned "Game of Thrones": "Yarp!" is played by "The Hound"!

Cameos by Cate Blanchett and Peter Jackson are a cool factoid to be sure, but the best part of the casting is the fact that Edgar Wright brought in a whole cavalcade of classically-trained British thespians specifically to make them have a giant shooty-splodey action scene throughout the last act of the movie. One really cool thing about this movie is that when you look at the action scenes they are always going for a non-lethal shot, in the end most of the neighborhood watch brings their injuries upon themselves. It's actually like they are showing the correct way of policing, by the regulations, impartial and focused on the community, but with such fun action sequences and comedy you don't even notice it. I would also say that Edgar Wright has such great cuts in his filming, the way that he transitions from one scene to the next is so creative and really makes his films flow seamlessly.

If you do enjoy his style, Edgar made a really great action/heist movie called Baby Driver, much less humour in it - but still really great. Great job Magic! This is one of my favorite movies, I love being around when someone hasn’t seen it. I am so glad you got the break you where looking for . Your smile and enthusiasm are equally awesome. Shaun Of The Dead and At World’s End are truly worth the watch. I hope school goes well and life treats you kindly. Looking forward to whatever you do next!

There's an actual Game of Thrones link. The trolley boy is Rory McCann who also played The Hound in Game of Thrones.

Another awesome reaction Magy. Love it. I was dissapointed she didn't recognise The Hound from Game of Thrones though. Yarp!! 😀

The actor who played Skinner here was actually playing James Bond in his time :)

P.S. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but Michael (yarp) was played by the guy who played the Hound in Game of Thrones 😂

Another great reaction! You spotted Walder Frey, but did you know, the Yarp man is The Hound actor also from GOT, Stabby Santa is LOTR director Peter Jackson and Angels X Girlfriend was played by Galadriel (Kate Blanchett) from LOTR 😊 . Shaun of the dead is another god one :)

This is the second movie of a special trilogy called The Cornetto Trilogy. Shaun of the Dead was the first and you must check that out as well as third 3rd one World’s End

You recognized "Walder Frey" (David Bradley), but did you realize that Michael (the tall, bald-headed officer and hooded assassin) was "the Hound" (Rory McCann)?
