Very confused about what exactly the game is aiming to deliver but its not as cheaply made as i expected. Maybe the vision is community maps using the simple funko framework. I cant figure out who the audience for this is either? If its kids then a 2024 yogs sponsorship is bizarre. If its not for kids im confused further. Enjoyed the video as ever, and I'll watch hot fuzz in any format apparently

It's less quirky and absurd than the Lego games, but it seems like it might replicate the nostalgic feeling better? I can't remember Hot Fuzz super well, but it seemed to do a decent job, with just a faint undertone of silly(beyond the silliness of the movie itself). With the Lego ones, it often felt like a Lego game first, whatever it's referencing a distant second, while this feels more balanced. I'd have to see them do a movie I remember better to truly judge, but if they do some well, I'd be interested.

I don't like the sellout nature of the concept. They specifically designed a style to attempt to be as cute as possible and then negotiated licensing deals not because they thought it would be a neat thing to exist in the world, but because they knew they could separate fools from their money. It's cynicism wrapped in bow. But, not like Disney which became that over time-done on purpose from the start. Funko Pops are the perfect symbol of late stage capitalism. Everything is for sale. Hide the wasting of limited petroleum resources behind big eyes and a smile for the sake of collectability scarcity. The game is just as much trying to capitalize on the Lego video games franchises as much as the figures themselves capitalized on the Beany Baby consumption insanity.
