I have a 2003 mk4 golf 1.8t 180bhp 6 speed. It has a few mods so pushing over 200bhp now. It's not the anniversary model but as close as you can get. I love the way it drives. Back in the day I also used to think it was too slow and heavy. Funny how things change.

wow, lucky yours a 6 speed. Most mk4 gti’s are 150 brake and only have a 5 speed, well that’s the case here in the UK anyway :(

I daily drive a 2002 anniversary model (337) in the U.S. It is my pride and joy. Brought back to life after a teenager had it and didnt take care of it. All the same as Liam's car, but in silver.

My favorite Gen besides the 7th. I own a 05 TDI, love it!!! It's rarity in the US. I've been upgrading the inside with the Aluminium radio cage and I also changed the vents for the Canadian Golf/ Jetta City painted sliver. Looks neat inside now, it breaks all the black inside plus I have the Silver metallic interior and of course I've upgraded with more power, stage 4 nothing too crazy. New turbo, 3" complete exhust system straight piped and a tune

A GOLF ball in a VW GOLF wow, how did I never notice that hahaha btw agree with anything you say, love the car so much, just put a din 2 radio with a big display in, bluetooth and everything, and it has everything you could wish for. And if you want more newer stuff you can actually do that quiete easily....automatic lights, cruise controll. ok, im just in the moment you say exact that haha agree

Love this video, the MK4 was the car I loved driving the most but needs work done it to. My recommended mods will be definitely anti roll bars as #1 mod. It’ll give your bar more point and will corner much flatter giving you more confidence. Then coil overs and then the K04 kit (full system) with aquamist…. not extreme power but reliable. I did 120k miles with no issues at all. Tears in my eyes when I finally sold it however I still get to see it at cars shows

Passenger wing mirror is bigger because a previous owner smashed the anniversary short stubby one and couldn’t find a replacement so stuck a regular golf gti one on. Anni’s have short stubby mirrors on both sides.

Being a mk4 pd130 owner I can vouch for the platform. Handling wise they do under perform but I’ve always seen mk4s as more of a stance or visually cool car. Tuning wise both the 1.9 tdi and 1.8turbos are brilliant for tuning and allow owners to really expand what they came out from the factory as. It’s almost like VW made the mk4 with the expectation of owners to then take them further down the line?

In fairness the Anni is good, but the 150 u can get v good power I had 300bhp out of my old one. I've had 3 mk4's and will always love them. I love the 1.8t that much I'm putting it into something else 🤣

I’ve got a 5 door 150 break one of these and I can definitely confirm they are boring slow old barges from standard. But with a Revo stage 1 (210bhp) and an intake, it brings the old girl back to life and makes it 100x more pokey

I went from a ep3 to a mk4 gti and the difference really is night and day The torque was nice and it was silly comfortable for a little car, but my god did I used to fucking cack it when I chucked into a corner🤣

These were fitted with a pair of slightly smaller wing mirrors so the larger one is probably a replacement from a damaged one not realising they're different to the standard mk 4 lol

Sorry to be *that* guy (I own one lol) 1800 officially made 900ish petrol 900ish diesel Split 300 'officially'' in each tornado red, reflex silver & black magic pearl. Apart from the total produced, all the other numbers are... not true. When the mk4 register was a thing it was clear the metallic option on both engines was most specced, with the gloss red 1.8T being the much rarer of the existing examples.
