This hula dance fitness workout really works for me. From 165 lbs down to 116 lbs. Should give it a try to those who wants to loose weight.
@darkwaltz007 жыл бұрын
For those who are getting offended because it's not 'hula': it's not a traditional dance. It is HOT HULA Fitness which takes moves from all the Polynesian islands to create a new style of workout. It does wonders for your major muscle groups and it a great workout.
@chrisd23376 жыл бұрын
who cares what you call it!!! Thank you for sharing it...looks like fun! People get offended about everything...geez!! Just have some fun! I will be trying it....THANK YOU so much for sharing!
@sierrawaianu5 жыл бұрын
Not to be negative but it’s not a mix of all Polynesian dances...I dance hula AND tahitian and this was strictly tahitian. I get it, it’s a cute name. But it’s my culture and that’s why I’m getting offended. Cute name. But it’s not being used in the correct context. Good work though 👏🏼
@konatuifua32295 жыл бұрын
@@sierrawaianu fr these people just don't get it. The workout is nice or whateva, but it's still from our Polynesian CULTURE!!! People be sayin, "who cares what it is?"....like us islanders bishhhhh😑. It's from another CULTURE. So at least respect it by calling it for what it really is. Sheesh ignorance is just taking over sis😒

@@chrisd2337 You the kind of guy that would be ok with some a**holes wearing Navajo or Cherokee war bonnets to coachella for "fun". Yeh but when ppl start demanding to take down statues of old colonialists in Jackson you the type who would get "offended".

This is TAHTIAN dancing, and it looks wonderful. I have been teaching hula (and Tahitian) for 45 years, and these ladies have it DOWN. You don't have to be a native to do these dances -- you just have to love and respect the culture. Plus, it's great for fitness. Thank you for this video. I have to show it to my haumana. They are all over 55, and I want them to start doing this as an aerobic workout. Mahalo!

Aunty Lani, am 57 so i can be called a haumana!! Dancing has been the way i keep stress away specially in terrible moments of my marriage. It helped me to keep my spirit alive n love myself. It also keeps me fit n attractive. I love culture and dances are always part of a culture. Wish you the best with your haumanas ;) Mahalo means thank you....

Can everyone get a grip? The instructor never claims this is kahiko or hula auana. Like it or not, this is how the world perceives "hula" to be. This is a combination of tahitian and cook island, which is commonly referred to by many as hula. Y'all know there are commonalities between hawaiian, tahitian, and cook island hula... stop being so picky. Lets be glad she's taking our cultures to the world and to our people through positive messages of getting active and getting fit. It's really not that hard to appreciate, guys. If you wanna be picky, go over to "Island Girl Workout" videos... now those are terrible lol.

Oh my gods, I love this! Since I've stumbled upon this channel three weeks ago I practice on a daily basis, and I honestly didn't expect such a big change. I bellydance for years, so I'm already familiar with many of those movements, but practicing with my knees bent really has a great impact on my thighs and glutes, which is amaaaziiinggggg! ^-^ I only struggle with the fast Ami; I'm going into walking- / 3/4 shimmy as soon as I try, but I'll keep practicing.

Oh, and by the way: All of you ladies are doing a good job and it's a pleasure to watch you dancing, but I could watch the girl with the green skirt literally for months. Her smile and her movements are candy for my eyes. :) *Lililililiiiiiii-Jip* to all of you.

Yep, you have to tuck your tailbone so your belly can feel the shaking too. Not to lean forward but to be straighten up poster and knees bent and not to lift heels, but keep them flat or your feet flat on the floor. Shoulders should not move, but only knees and hips when it comes to shaking. Ladies are doing good. I love the posture of the dancer in the front.

And you can best believe and bet your bottom dollar, that like belly dancing (which my physical therapist suggested and I’ve been indulging myself for over a decade) your thighs will be ON FIRE!! 😧🦵🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😧 And you’re squatting to totally isolate your hips and not move your upper body? At that point, your quads will jump out the window!! Belly dancing and obviously this style (as well as Caribbean and any style which does deep isolation) is an intense, very low impact full body workout…and it’s fun!! 👍👍👍 Oh and it’s good for low back issues and if you have cramps…at least belly dance kinda massages my lower abs and back while dancing….and before my shoulders and quads fall off my body and jump out the window from burning and fatigue!!

+millanani No...it actually can't. They are two specific cultures with different dances...it would be like saying Ballroom can be "applied" to Country dancing. Would you "care" if you thought you had purchased a filet mignon but it was really Salisbury steak?
