Thanks pat for showing these great matches for free. I really appreciate it as someone who has been buying them for over 20 years. You have done so much for pool.

In some respects, that was the best one pocket match I have ever seen. The level of aggression and the shooting performance was almost beyond belief. I've watched Justin play in our hall and when his is relaxed he makes shots like this all the time, but under this pressure is another thing all together. Pretty sure it was Justin one day, at Clicks Orlando, ran out what I thought was a less than easy table, and nobody hardly looked up. I said "tough crowd, I thought that was a nice out, I guess they just EXPECT that". He kind of half smiled. One HELL of a shooter. He would line up shots where I'm thinking "get real", like the bank combo and bank caroms here, and make them time after time after time. After a while, I just expected him to make them, too. Thorpe's shooting here was same level stellar, as well. Do NOT leave that guy any kind of bank...good lord. Man, these two are one pocket BEASTS! That 8 bank at game's end was a seriously GUTSY shot...you gotta almost KNOW you've got that puppy. Varner's 'well' at 29:56 sounds like HE is tired and stressed by this game, and he's NOT EVEN playing. These guys are playing aggressively even on the safties. I had to laugh at one point where Nick called a shot, and Marks said "now they've even got YOU thinking hyper aggressively. Shot at 40:10 was heartbreaking...and yes, definitely a miscue, you can see the tip vibrating after the shot. To have that happen after the previous shot is just torture. Varner's "I don't like darin' these guys to shoot at balls like that" at about 18:10 or so. Varner, in his slow drawl, always gets to the heart of the matter in just a few words. Guess that's why HE played at the level he did. These two guys don't mind going wildly aggressive when they deem it time to pull the trigger, and both of them can pocket insane shots at insane percentages. Like always, it's all in the numbers, and they have a damn good handle on them, guess that's one MAIN reason why they play at this absurd level. Varner, "The purple ball...that IS still the four, isn't it?" With ya, I HATE those off colored TV balls, and they STILL don't differentiate the three from the five worth a damn! If I can't see both balls on the table I'm lost half the time as to which one it is, even if they are both there, I have to compare them, color wise. I check out VERY solidly on the color recognition charts where you have to pull the number out of the noise, even for the 'hard' ones, so it's not that. I sit here and work out a rotation table beforehand, then realize it's crap because I've incorrectly identified the 3 or 5. Pretty DAMN sure if I were going to work out new (irritating) colored balls for TV, I could have done BETTER than THAT. I am not impressed with the 'work' someone did on that. And there's a set with pink balls and one without. Could 'we' (promoters) AT LEAST all agree on using JUST the better of the two? Shocking pink WOULD be a good color for the 3 or 5, though, but I don't remember if the rest of the balls are well differentiated. Your not going to mistake vibrant pink for red or orange, not if you can see all colors. Obviously it doesn't matter in straight or one pocket, except for the commentators trying to call shots.

Did they change the ball colors in the last few years? Here the 7 ball appears green, the color of the 6 ball. A stark difference from a maroon 7 ball. Have I been out of touch THAT long? Ball colors used to be distorted due to analog screens and low resolution. And yet the 2 ball is still blue.
@AccuStats3 жыл бұрын
Yes, colors have changed every time a different company produces its own balls.
@terryglenweaver3 жыл бұрын
@@AccuStats I guess it was marooned for so long it turned green with envy. Changing ball colors makes the narration difficult to keep up with especially watching on a cell phone.
