Not sure if this is a practical idea, but I would like to see a chart on one of your web pages of all the sauces used so far in the series and maybe categorized by flavor and heat, if that could be done. I hope that sounds like a good idea to the viewers. Maybe check with the staff if it sounds practical.

I am loving the Heat Eaters series with Esther! This episode in particular was perfectly done because she's the newbie on First We Feast, so we got to feel like we were experiencing it all with her for the first time. Her excitement and enthusiasm all made it feel like you were being invited to tag along with a friend for a back stage tour i.e. as she was getting a behind-the-scenes look at the Hot Ones buildings, set, and getting introductions to all her fellow FWF coworkers; it felt personal and inviting. This ties in well with Sean's Hot Ones interviewing style as he too is someone who is welcoming and thoughtful as an interviewer, making his guests feel heard and important with his well constructed and researched questions. From an OG fan who has bought your sauces and watched your many, many interviews - great job @FirstWeFeast! Keep up the incredible content!

The reason da bomb is hotter than even the last dab, is because it is an extract and not a mash like all the other hot sauces. Its real purpose is for cooking. It wasn't designed to be sauced onto other foods like wings.

@texaslinux Жыл бұрын
This was awesome! By the way, anything that does not mix well with oil, such as anything water based (like water melon juice) is not going to do anything to remove the heat. The oils from the pepper/hot sauce are sitting on your tongue. Water just moves moisture off your tongue and leaves the oil to keep burning (which is why drinking water seems to work at first but the heat then intensifies). Esther's noodles would be on the right track *if* the noodles were tossed in some kind of oil and she didn't put so much water-based liquid in it. The most effective way to reduce the heat is to eat something to carry the oil off your tongue, like bread.
@RichardGadsden Жыл бұрын
This is why milk, which is an emulsion of oil and water, is a good choice. What you mostly want is emulsifiers (substances that make oils and water mix, like the lipids and casein in milk). The most effective are detergents, but you obviously don't want those in your mouth! Still, that does mean it's easy to get off your hand so you don't accidentally get any in your eyes. But dairy is a good choice, also pectins (from e.g. apples and pears - mostly in the skin, so not the juice). Egg yolks. Commercial mayonnaise has added emulsifiers as well as the egg yolk. Bread has lots of emulsifiers and also has an abrasive action to scrape it off your tongue.
