Hot Process Soap Demo: Counter Top HP in a Slab Mold | Controlling Volcanos in Hot Process Soap

Happy Wet Soap Wednesday my dear soapy friends! Today I'm going to restock a HP (Hot Process) soap. I love hot process! This one is pretty basic (no scent or color) and the cook should be about 15-20 minutes. We'll see some hot process volcano action for sure!

Sorry I wasn't there for the live but this was a great video! I actually prefer hot process! I use a crockpot though. That volcano was insane! I would have been freaking out haha! Thank you for the awesome video! I want to make soap right now :)

Using a wire hand wisk slows the volcanos better than using a spatula

I watched this live & now i want to try this technique (I'm an experienced CPSoaper, but only 1 Hp soap ever done). I also purchased your Vegan Palm free recipe but i am assuming i cld not use the water amount in this recipe to make HP soap using the counter top method. Should i stick to the soapcalc default of 38% water or can i go lower? I usally CP soap at 2:1 water to lye.

You can absolutly use my go-to vegan recipe for HP! I'll update the tutorial to have a quick chat about that for you soon! soapyfriends.com/product/kandras-go-to-vegan-palm-free-soap-recipe/ For now, this should get you where you need to be: Use the 1:1 water:HaOH solution, then at at least another part liquid. In the video, my extra liquid was aloe juice. So, my total liquid was 2:1. You can go higher if you like, 2.5:1, but you probably won't need it and it will just make your soap take longer to unmold and cure up (because it will be soft with all the extra liquid). I never recommend the soap calc default, because it's based on a percent of oils. The water weight should be based off of dissolving the NaOH (which will be different for each oil even of the same weight). NaOH calculations are based off of SAP value of a given amount of that oil, not the weight all oils in a formula =)

No, there was no separation at all. The shiny bits at the end are just warmer batter vs. cooling batter. It's much lighter when cool =)

I loved this video so much, thankyou Kandra 🪄if there is any other modern-day task/job out there with stronger witch vibes than stirring down a big volcano of hot process soap, I want to see it. I do it countertop too and this is revolutionary to me that it can be made by the slab! Loved watching all the volcano's and soap stages and all the info you share as you go along is top shelf. I'm going to recomend this to friends who are interested in countertop hp or hthp. thanks again soapy sister😄
