A little bit of "toe in" will tend to make it want to track straight. On the ones I have built I always install a small shock from the drag link to the frame to dampen out the oscillating effect. Also I don't know what kind of box you are using for the cowl steering but if it's worn much it will contribute to the wobbles. In my opinion, cowl steering while cool and with advantages of freeing up room for the engine and headers to clear, will tend to add any play in the geometry from first point to last and multiply as it does. Some folks use Ford Ranger steering boxes and make mounts to hang them under the dash since that box can be sourced fairly easy. Hope you get it solved.

All tight and good. Toe at about 0, tire pressure is at 21lbs and just installed a So cal speed shop steering stabilizer. Test drive around block seems better yet.Need to put some drive time to make sure.Have to put spacer on stabilizer and going to drop tires to 20lbs.

Oh almost forgot, straight axles like a little negative caster, about 7 degrees or so, laying the axle back. Also narrow tires with worn tread will definitely contribute as will worn out heim joints or ball joints, whichever you choose to use. Wheel offset will sometimes introduce it too. I know this is a lot of suggestions. Check out the Jalopy Journal (also known as the H.A.M.B.) and peruse the boards which is searchable. A lot of old timers dwell there and they are pretty good at helping.

All good after final adjustments. Had the vintage shocks rebuilt added a so cal speed shop stabilizer and adjusted the pressure to about 23 and toe was almost at 1/16 and kept the camber that was there (unadjustable) like 9 degrees. But it is sold a while ago. Got a model A Tudor with similar front end. Thanks for the reply.

Early ford shocks out being rebuilt now. Still did it a little before I removed shocks. I dropped tire pressure to 24 lbs and seemed better when drove around block with no actions that time. Had 29lbs. Also did some work on pitman arm to tighten it up a little more. Had to take a little material off washer as it was binding on groves and not against pitman arm. I may take your idea and get a little shorter pitman to get the drag lint up a bit.Thx

Shocks done and on. First test no issue. Still the tracking and darting issue as I still have the almost 3/4 toe out.

I added a front panhard bar. That seemed to help some. Good luck.

Did you ever figure this problem out??

Yes. Got the tires to 22lbs. Did a garage front tire balance, toe a little in from zero and so cal speed shop stabilizer. Drove pretty good. But since have sold it.
