Thanks! Same. I've been watching marketplace for a 518 since I got back. I know where a few are but it's a LOAD of work to get them out of the trucks, and they're still not cheap. I'll come across one locally at some point 👍🏼👍🏼

It was nice meeting you at the random hotel. The brake fluid was much appreciated, especially after that random emergency stop Jay said might happen, happened. We went through a few more ounces on the way home but we made it safe. Threw a master on before discovering it started pouring gear oil out of the left side axle seal. We ended up finishing the tour out in my Bronco II. Hope to catch you again. Hit me up if you ever need anything in the south west ohio area.

My first one, too. Still processing the whole experience (and it was great to meet you guys, too!) We also joined late and hotel space was gone so we didn't get to join in there either. That was a regret. Getting Covid was nice. But we did have fun and certainly know what to do better next time!

This was my first tour as well. I run an nv3500 behind 400hp in my old red truck we took on tour and it did great. It came out of a donor truck 5 years ago and has close to 300k on it. I averaged 15-18 mpg on tour.

Looks fun, and the dyno was nice to try. I'd be happy just to take my 96 XJ on an adventure like this. I am hoping to make it to LS Fest this year for the first time. That would be about a 10 hour ride for me. Va is too darn far from the fun car stuff. Glad you got to go and had fun and next time should be even better.

an overdrive unit is likely to be an easier thing to do, but I can understand the 5sp too

Hard choices. I've been trying to find a A518 but haven't had any luck yet for a decent price.
