Yes this a good one to make use of those spray paints that wont spray. But to make it simple I use a 2.5" muffler clamp and a few wing nuts with the same type valve.

I have he same model Milwaukee metal chop saw and would like to do the same thing with installing a 15 amp light switch. However it was not clear what your wiring diagram is for wiring up the new switch. could you show me what wires you wired together and which ones you wired into the switch?
@HFG
@HFG 8 күн бұрын
There are only two wires for the switch. Basically it's just a break in the power wire, so you just connect one of the wires to one side of the switch, and the other wire to the other side of the switch. That's all there is to it. 👍🏼
@PhilKrueger-v8d
@PhilKrueger-v8d 8 күн бұрын
@@HFG This is still not clear. Your old switch has two blue wires on one side and the white and grey or black on the other side where my old switch has two white wires on one side and two black wires on the other side. I am assuming that on the wall switch you would need one white wire and one black wire on each of the two terminals and a white and black wired together and not hooked up to anything?

New owner of an '85! Have never owned a car older than '98, and have never owned anything American. Every bushing was dust & disintegrated only the linkages were left behind. I 100% would not have been able to do this job without this video, and I definitely would have tried to take shortcuts too. Used a bench vise and a socket to press them into place, I found doing the "female" side first made it 10x easier. Also don't overfill them with grease, just a little. Too much works like a hydraulic piston and fights back against you.

I love D150's. I watch this whole build. I have a 1988 with a 318. I swapped the manual granny gear with a NV3500 5 speed with a high gear. Mine is lowered too. You can use a B series Van control arm for the front, and do an axle flip to get a 2" front, 6" rear drop. Handles way better, looks meaner with a better stancer. I have been saving up for the Holley Sniper 2. It's better because you can connect your phone with bleetooth. I am also saving up for a fiberglass R/T hood that fits D150's from US Body. Anyway, great job on your build!

Use Muriatic Acid with a 3:1 ratio (3 water, 1 acid) to start with. When done soaking to remove rust or protective Mill Scale from the manufacturing process, wash with baking soda/water solution to neutralize the acid. Then oil or paint the items. Otherwise they will immediately start rusting..immediately. 🙂

Great video, thank you for making and sharing it boss. I am down here in Benton Harbor, not too far south of you and am thinking about doing this to my 2000 XJ. Q: Couldn't you have just tapped some threads into the frame for those two front bolts? The four for the sway bar are set that way, right? Just seems like it would have been quicker and mush easier, maybe not though. Thanx again for this video.
@HFG
@HFG 20 күн бұрын
Thanks! You have to use the bolts because the "frame" there is just stamped sheet metal. You'd never get any thread engagement unless you welded a nut on the inside. The hitch has been a big help for moving stuff and using the winch. It's worth the effort if you want to do it 👍🏼

Yeah. This kit isn't tall enough to need a different one. I chose this smaller lift specifically because it doesn't require any additional stuff and doesn't affect the geometry much. Also, I don't really "off-road" it much, it just needed new springs and these add just a little more clearance. 👍🏼

Interesting. I'm not sure what the issue could be. The kit I bought isn't available anymore the last time I checked. I think they called it a "leveling kit" being that the front was 2.5" and the back was 3". It's settled in nicely and I don't have any issues at all. I'm not sure what to say really.

Had to watch this as I'm having a 454 big block Chevy built for my '71 Nova. My engine builder mentioned having to add Mallory to a 396 crankshaft for a customer due to so much imbalance in the rotating assembly. He said it was due to inconsistency in the weight of the pistons and that the pistons were heavy. (Icon was the brand name). I'm using Wiseco pistons and I believe they're quite a bit lighter. Hopefully I won't have to have this process done cuz it cost his customer $300 to have weight added to the crank.

You really helped in figuring out valve spring pressure --- I see the Arbor press --- a digital caliper ---- the two plates look like aluminum ---- slot in top one that keeps it square to the press ram --- and must have a screw attaching it to the bottom of the ram ---- the two aluminum plates look like slots to accept the thickness of the blades off the caliper with two screws to snug up to the blades and hold them in place ----- Are these two aluminum plates available? -------- Thank you for a really in-depth explanation of valve spring setup ----- I may have to watch a couple of times ---- but watching your video sets it more --- CLEAR-- than others ---- Hope you have a Good Week ---- And Merry Christmas ----- Rodney
@HFG
@HFG 27 күн бұрын
The bottom plate has a pressure sensor attached to it, which is the important part. The calipers are there just to read how far you're moving the spring. Other systems might have a ruler on the side.

Wondering if you think this is sturdy enough to mount a plow on? I know XJs have a unibody and many discourage plowing due to it being susceptible to bending.

I can't say I've ever seen an XJ with a plow on it. It's a light duty vehicle so adding that much weight on the front along with the abuse of a plow... I don't know 😬 You might want to ask that question in one of the XJ groups on Facebook. Maybe they'll know more.

I fully charged the battery and the tool goes far off better. Before I used the battery stock charged from factory. It had 3 leds out of 4, but I suppose it was less than 50% since it needed 2 hours for fully charge. Now I am able to unscrew wheel bolts, even at first speed. Thats pretty sufficient... but my opinion is 3 out of 5 stars for the tool, since it also costs 160 euros here (amazon black friday deal). I unscrewed wheel bolts at 250nm with first speed.
