I think you should get an old school rounded car hood like the chitty chitty bang bang car that would set it off. Great work.

If it was mine I would put a support Bearing on the rear Right side of the Drive axel. I would also install a double center bearing set up between the Motor and the Rearend axel/ Make the one going from the carrier Pullies to where you have the most power to the rear end with shorter belts. I used to Race Mighty Midget Racers on the Missouri, Kansas Circuot and was always having Belt slippage and when I devided the power to the Center Tightner Pullies I was able to win mower Trophies.

Very cool you should get some custom 50s style white walls for it and maybe a few more body panels
@DieselFuelNetwork5 ай бұрын
I have some plans to add some more body to it. I'm not sure about the white walls. That would definitely be unique, and "Hot-Rod." But although I call it the Hot-Rod-Tractor, my vision is more of a pre-war race car style. Maybe I'll consider that on a future build. Thanks for watching.

Fantastic build, Question, Are you worried about Burning yourself on that Tailpipe right next to the Seat?
@DieselFuelNetwork Жыл бұрын
Thanks. In the machines previous configuration, I had that exhaust for a while and was never an issue, all though now that the seating position is lowered, it's definitely gonna need a heat shield. I also want to shroud off the seat to hold me in corners as it's hard to stay in place.

This tractor thing is cool as anything, i assume belt driven was the easiest option here but wouldnt a drive shaft be better? especially at that length and lack of tensioners from the looks of it. definitely really neat regardless though of how its driven. and balls of steel for driving it that fast without even a helmet lol

Put you axles on piller blocks close to the wheels that's how we done my sons
@DieselFuelNetwork Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's definitely something I should have done, as it's not the first bent axle I've had. And it turns out they're both bent. It wasn't as obvious with the wider wheels and tire I had before. I do have another idea I'm working on to fix it that should be pretty cool, so stay tuned. And thanks for watching 👍

@@DieselFuelNetwork Years ago, the way that worked to support a shaft over a distance without a bearing was to create a taper over the length of the shaft. In fact the old Sensation lawn mower engines used a tapered shaft to attach the blade to and it prevented bent crankshafts. Pillow block bearings for the win.

I would fix that garage..so I could work on the camaro and fix it up...and finish it..if nothing more than my dad's memory..but I would definately fix it
@DieselFuelNetwork5 ай бұрын
The camaro will get done with or without a garage. I spent 2 years building a foxbody Mustang to perfection outside on the dirt while that camaro was in there. I will pull it back in when I work on it. I'm planning on getting it road worthy this summer. There will definitely be videos of it as I progress. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.

Please take no offense to this but what am I missing here? Why are you playing around with the go-kart when you got that badass Camaro sitting there? That car is awesome your dad really did a good job on it and you need to finish it. I think I speak for everybody else on here this KZbin channel should be more about that Camaro. Do you need help with it? Because I'm sure there's lots of guys out there that would be glad to come there and help turn some wrenches on that car and help you get it finished up. Have you ever seen the first fast and furious movie there's a scene in that movie where Dom and Brian are in the garage looking over Dom's father's black charger Dom said that he never drove the car before cuz it scared the s*** out of him. Is that what's going on here? That engine sounds like it has some nice internals in it .brake line kits are cheap and easy to install so are floorpan sheet metal and tubs .the money you spent on the go carts new tires would have paid for the rear tubs alone . What exactly was your dad building the car for was it Street and strip or just a show car. What was his dream he envisioned for this car?
@DieselFuelNetwork5 ай бұрын
No offense taken. I definitely appreciate the comment. I am planning some videos with this car. Im hoping to have it on the road this summer. I want to address everything you're asking, so I'll start with my favorite thing, your reference to The Fast and The Furious. It's one of my favorite movies. I saw it in the theater and probably 100 times since. (I'm probably a bit older than you think) When I was younger, I was definitely intimidated by this car. But I'm no stranger to a fast V8-powered car. I've had two foxbodys. I built my last one on the dirt in this driveway. Everything from engine to rear axle was out of the car. I have the ability to do the work on the camaro. I have done some minor chassis and sheet metal work before, but the amount of work needed in the camaro was, at first glance, a bit overwhelming. I just had a friend look at it on sunday and give me some advice to move forward with. I already have the tub kit, but it's aluminum, I'm probably gonna do it all in steel. The end goal my dad had for the car was a street-strip hot-rod to just drive around and have fun. The only money into the tractor build was the wheels/tires and the seat. Everything else was free because I've owned and collected it all over the course of many years. Now, for the controversial part of my response. I didn't really think working on the camaro would get many views. The tractor became very popular on tiktok, and that steered me towards making it the focus of my youtube channel. I did one video, just starting the camaro on here. It barely got any views. There's a lot of channels that do car stuff at a much higher level than im capable of, so i didn't think I could contribute in a meaningful way and get people to watch. That's the unfortunate reality of KZbin. My goal has always been to build a successful KZbin channel. Like I said, there will definitely be some camaro content coming in the future. Believe me, I want to get it done and drive it more than you can imagine, and of course, im going to make videos of the work and the experience. My dad owned it since before I was born. The last time it was on the road and I was a passenger was in the 90s. I've never driven it, and I'm really looking forward to it. Your comment was perfectly timed as I've been constantly thinking about the car and having vivid dreams working on it with my dad. Thank you for watching. I really appreciate it.

Instead of complaining how you are not into it get the right pipes to begin with. It is not that expensive. Anytime you hack something together it will never look right.
@DieselFuelNetwork3 ай бұрын
I had to go back and watch. One thing to consider is that this machine flexes quite a bit when off-road. So I really prefer to have the exhaust sections connected with flex pipe. Any other type of flex joint would not look right and is more expensive. This exhaust system is basically what I had before stretching the frame and is made up of harley drag pipes I got for free. The rear section over the tire is exactly how I want it to look. Thanks for watching and commenting
