HOT, SOUR & SWEET LEMON PICKLE | LIME PICKLE
A Perfect blend of the three - a rather addictive
Initially taught to me by my neighbour Theresa - but I’ve changed a few bits according to my taste.
Note: the cooking time is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes and if you don't have Goa vinegar, you can try substituting it with a bit of red wine vinegar or malt vinegar or apple cider vinegar - but there might be a slight difference in taste.

Thanks a lot for this lovely recipe! A real lifesaver for me because I have a lime tree & don't know what to do with the limes!

Lovely recipe thank you. Just one question though. Does it need to go into the refrigerator the same day ?

no - after 10 or 15 days or more

Pickle will spoil if you use water. You should have used the water from the limes instead of just water

Nimbu ka upari bhag pura na nikalo toh kadwa hota hai.... Ab gur aur shakar ki chasni banake usme daalo.... Aur ek-do hafte tak rehne do - uske baad khana

can keep it at room temperature for some weeks... its lasts longer if refrigerated

Hi I tried Ur recipe n within 20 min the lemon at the bottom got burnt. N now it has a nice taste.

Couple of questions: can i add apple cider vinegar instead of regular one? And after squeezing the liquid out of the lime, should i add the liquid in the mixter too? Along with the limes? Many thanks in advance ❤️

I have never tried with apple cider but you can if you like...you can leave the limes as they are

What is vinegar required? In Goa we dont add vinegar. In our family they don't like vinegar smell

Wait for a couple of days - once the lime pulls in the flavours and the pickle matures it the bitterness will go away.... Or if u want to eat it quickly then made a little sugar syrup and add it to the pickle and give it a boil

Raw sugar (it is brown and unprocessed form hence healthy) as labelled abroad in super markets... you will find it in any Indian store abroad ..

also found in Mexican food stores/aisles 'piloncillo' Goya brand called Panela. unrefined cane sugar or palm sugar.
