Hot Springs, NC

Naturally heated mineral water is rare in North Carolina and the rest of the East. One spot where it can be found is in the mountain town of Hot Springs, NC. There people can still soak in the water and experience some of the history associated with the resort. This segment was produced for Time Warner Cable.

Had a great time in Hot Springs for the 4th, but I have to say that the springs are an over commercialized disappointment. Felt good to be in a hot tub after white water rafting all day, but I could do this at home and achieve the same... sad that they don't have the original baths anymore or even a reconstruction of them... now it's really just a hot tub in a 3way enclosure.

Yeah I'm from there and they only care and about money and this place has gone to hell because of the people who reopened the spas they overprice when it should be free or the town should get the money

You should hire a company from Switzerland to create a Swiss-style thermalbad. The Swiss know how to do hot springs. Alternatively visit Japan for ideas for natural outdoor, Japanese -style hot springs. Sitting in a small, plastic jacuzzi tub - just no.
