“ not a snow flake in sight” (insert R Pelton pic) I laughed out Loud. Love the humour between you guys, it’s good natured 🍻🇨🇦

You can process tons of wood with just a hatchet and a hand saw, with bigger stumps throw the log down on the hatchet head and take advantage of the weight of the log to force the split instead of lugging around a full size axe. Full size axes are for chopping down trees. The saw does that so you don't need to lug around the extra weight.

Just like to add though that short handles are more dangerous to overswing into your leg, so you work on your knees, and wooden handles are much lighter. Axes are more about accuracy not force, so as you get more efficient at your accuracy, you won't be breaking the handles as often.

For some reason, when you mentioned snowflakes, I suddenly thought of Rob Pelton. Weird. Can't explain why. Anyway, nice work on the oven. Very cool. Er... hot.

Great to see you out there so soon after saying farewell to Krusty. Truly an inspiration the way you are keeping busy and staying positive in his absence. Eating well in a hot tent seems like the perfect way to honor his memory. #RIPROB

Love to see that oven idea. Might be a fun project. Just a thought. Did you consider to swap out the hinge hardware on one side for wing nuts and everything would nest together a little more compact for transport?
@MidwestBackpacker

@@Menofthebush with the grate inside and the thermometer I don’t think it would get a whole lot smaller. In the winter having more pieces to loose isn’t optimal for me and pulling an pulk I have more capacity. Did you see the video I did specifically on making the oven?
@Menofthebush
@Menofthebush 20 күн бұрын
@ I commented before I saw the thermometer. After seeing it finished I think I’d agree keeping it one piece is better. I’ll have to find that video and visit the local Salvation Army I think.
