Ray Stevenson played Baylan perfectly and made the character his own. What a lovely guy, i met him at Star Wars celebration not long before he passed, what a shame, he was loving playing a Star Wars live action part and this figure does him justice, thank goodness. The head sculpt is spot on, i love this figure, can not stop looking at it and posing away. Great review Justin.

The aurebesh translates to (as best as I can tell) "TRGT DAT" on the left gauntlet. The right gauntlet is too difficult for me to make out. I'm assuming they just slapped some random letters on there lol. It would have been cool if HT put a hidden message in aurebesh to commemorate Ray.

I was surprised that Baylan was released long in advance, I wanted to see more of Baylan I think he was the best part of the Ahsoka series, I didn´t noticed the orange color of his saber in the show, I thought it was red, the figure looks amazing I liked that you can make the hood look like we always wanted and the headsculpt the best part of this figure, I am definitely getting him.

Would have never guessed that SWC in London would be the last time we’d see him. And what a figure this is, everything amazing about this character seems to be captured here. I too always thought his armour was full on black. Now after seeing the figure and looking back at him in the show, there is a slight tint of green but its all down to the lighting that hinders it. Either Hot Toys kicked it up a notch, or the show's lighting or color grading made it less noticeable.

There are other ways to simulate the look of leather without using real leather or pleather. Like waxed fabric or nylon or polyester, and sculpting the stuff to look like leather. But they’re too lazy try do any of that stuff because they’re so over reliant on pleather. It’s seems to me like somehow pleather is cheaper than sculpting plastic.

Good review as always. I think another possibility for the early release is the potential recast of the character. Yes indeed, Stevenson ROCKED in this role, but if the show does return, Baylon will likely return as well. HT (& Disney) may want to cycle through any merch before that happens to capitalize on whatever actor takes the part. Just speculation. Regardless, this figure looks GREAT.

So, I guess we’ll be getting more releases from the Ashoka line soon then for I’ve been seeing SS’s and they’re all still on pre order and not one has been waitlisted as of yet.
