When this suit first debuted I remember it being compared to a power rangers suit. Now I appreciate it more, there is so much detail and interesting design work, especially on the mask and the glider. I really like it now!

The joke was Power Rangers villain but I always thought that was such a poor comparison. It's leagues above any of that and Dafoe sold it. This costume is a great adaptation. It's a bummer they couldn't replicate the purple chameleon paint or whatever that was in the film but this is still incredible.

I'm not all that invested in the Dafoe portrait chosen. I do wish there were exclusive portraits with different facial expressions. I think one of Dafoe's most menacing expressions was the grin in that mirror scene from the 1st film.

Figure looks great and so does the glider BUT the headsculpt is a disappointment and the gliders lightup function beeing battery operated is far worse...come on Hot Toys! STEP IT UP!!!!

Like you said, the likeness here is amazing, and I imagine this looks just like Willem Dafoe to most people who probably don’t even collect Hot Toys. Of course, likeness is subjective so I’m not saying having the opinion that this sculpt is bad is incorrect, but I also think that lots of collectors seem to lack nuance with these things. It’s either incredible or it’s awful, and there’s no in-between with some people.

The fact Sideshow spent the resources to post this unboxing video means they're having problems selling it out even after it was waitlisted... This is more evidence in my mind that their aggressive waitlisting strategy is a way to create artificial FOMO on figures they want to push... Just make the deposit higher and put a short preorder window on items! Sick of these tactics designed to squeeze money out of people for items they weren't otherwise going to buy other than to chase "collectibles" that are losing $100+ in value left and right these days except for a few exceptions.
