After Goblin pushed the “Mary Jane” button, he couldn’t handle fighting Peter any longer. In No Way Home, Goblin was taking Holland’s punches head on in the apartment. Goblin even laughed in Tom’s face at how the punches weren’t phasing him. The one mistake Goblin made was pushing the “Aunt May” and “Mary Jane” button when he could’ve easily killed Peter (in Spiderman 1 and No Way Home).

Well to be fair Tobey got his ass beat because he was a neophyte and was weakened before the final fight. When Tobey Spiderman found motivate he kicked Green Goblins ass and almost killed him. When Tobey and Gobby fought in a fair fight Tobey's Spiderman clearly was superior not to mention when Norman found out that Tobey was Spiderman the Goblin told Norman that he couldn't beat Tobey's Spiderman in a fair fight so he had to formulate a strategy to make Tobey suicidal so he doesn't even have to fight him. In Spiderman NWH Tom Holland punched Green Goblin in the face like 15 times and not once did he ask for mercy or for him to stop. Tobey punched him 5 times and he was begging for mercy. Not to mention in the novelization Making the Film Green Goblin felt that if Tobey would've kept punching he would've killed him. If this was Spiderman 2 or 3 Peter Green Goblin would've gotten destroyed from the start.

When I was 13 years old this fight was shockingly brutal. I had never seen a super hero get their a$$ handed to them like this before. It was totally awesome and actually put some doubt in my mind as to who was going to win. (Hard to do when we all know the hero wins 99% of the time.) IMO, this fight was more intense than any fight in the Nolan Batman trilogy, which by reputation is supposedly so gritty and realistic. Even the Bane fight, besides the back breaker at the end, wasn’t all that impressive. Honestly, I’m trying to think of any comic book movie fight in the past 20 years that can match this one’s intensity and I’m having trouble finding one. Some might come close but I still put this one at the top.
@walterbanegas13653 жыл бұрын
Well man, that was because this was more of a brutal beatdown than an actual fight, Spider-Man really got his ass kicked to oblivion, actually I think that If the Green Goblin didn't Taunt spiderman with killing Mary Jane after the beatdown he would have killed him and finished the job with absolutely no efort.

Here was my perspective watching this movie as a 6 year old. Spiderman was one of the very first superheroes I was introduced to as a kid and I legitimately thought he was invincible. All of the sudden, this terrifying and devilish looking goblin comes in and gives Spiderman a good ass whooping throughout the movie. That was terrifying through a 6 year old's perspective and that's what made Goblin an amazing villain to me.

“MJ and I… We’re gonna have a Hell of a time”. I think that’s when you realise the film is no joke, despite all its apparent whimsy… This is a dramatic work of art, and I appreciate that Raimi went there. Spider-Man rises one last time even though he probably knows those blades will kill him. Elfman’s score sounds ethereal. None of the sequels, nor reboots ever got as powerful.

There were so many things he could have said in his brief moment of clarity. He could have thanked Peter for freeing him, or simply mutter something about being free. Yet in the brief moment he has, he talks about Harry, wanting to protect him from the horrible truth. He failed as a father until his final moment where he showed he truly cared about his son.

Maybe try to convince Norman to stop, and that as he died his last words were to protect his son rather than cursing vengeance. Then have this be the last shot of Norman we see in the film. Have the reason he says "Oh" before being stabbed is that he realizes exactly where he is. Standing right in the way of his glider

Many years later and I'm still seeing little details. Like after taking the Pumpkin Bomb to the face and Goblin jumps off his glider you can see at 0:15 Peter holds up his hand making a small gesture indicating "No more". He's tired and injured and just wants it to stop. You can see a dent in the Goblins chin before he removes his helmet. So many things Sam Raimi truly made an amazing superhero film. I think all Spidermen films are amazing but Sam definitely made this as real and captivating as possible.
