They removed the metal flaps because they were always breaking and there were always problems with them not sitting flush it’s not just because they were cheeping out

This suit is SUPER high-quality, and I know, because I have it. This suit, I don’t know about the size but detail is spot-on and beyond. The Robert Downey Jr. head sculpt is so realistic it’s actually kinda scary and I thought when I first opened the box, it would blink! My box never squeaked so I don’t know where you got it from, but I got mines from sideshow.com. This model is actually very delicate, and could break easily, so be aware of that. The parts could fall out easily so put them back with the box laying down. Lights are very nice and bright and I would give it a 4.5 out of 5!

problems with the mesh was it didn't sit flush in the back and looked ugly if it didn't sit flat

Quality control issues will always happen even on items worth thousands of dollars. To me it seems that HT has made significant upgrades to this figure compared to the original. The figure looks great! I can't wait to get mine.

Glad you pointed out the differences in detail with the 2.0 unleashed. In May I sold my 2.0 new to a buyer in Hong Kong of all places for a fair amount considering the looming release of the die cast version. Made me think if the buyer knew something the public didn't about the die cast

mk45 is the best looking red iron man suit, while mk42 is the better colour option (that you don't have) to mk43 that strangely collectors don't like

good review as always, its a shame with good innovation in the mk5 & 6 shoulders,lights,chunky diecast that this looks like a mk2AU with hints of diecast. more flaps or a nice backdrop would be good. anyway mk4 soon.

Obviously it pays to pre-order. I paid a fixed price of 479 AUD, seems like a bargain in comparison even considering the minor flaws pointed out in your review. And thanks for another in-depth analysis......Great review as usual.

mk2 armor unleashed is better proportioned with mk3, and has more accessories than mk2 diecast, mk2 AU definitely is a better option

I’m gonna stead clear of this fig cuz it’s so chromy and clean if you get a chip it’s so visible and it’s not worth the amount just for what we got great review tho!

The Mark II itself would be fine for it's size, but compared to later released suits it feels tiny. Look at the suits on the far right - according to the Iron Man Wiki this suits are a bit taller but not as obvious (3 inches). And then there's the Mark V which should be smaller than most of the other suits...but it towers over most of them...it's n ot an issue of the reviewed Mark II product, but with every figure released in different sizes it might look odd having them all ligned up.

Mark 46 was cheaper than this...believe it or not. This cost me 600 usd from HK...ridiculous, but the Mark 5 was even a tad more expensive. Mark 46 was around 480. All prices are with EMS shipping incl.

The mark 5 is waaay too big, should be the smallest armor. Silver centurion is the best suit imo.

I'll never understand why they put the head light in the middle of the eye section. When you put the mask on, the figures look cross eyed. Then you have Bones, which has the best head light up, where as both eyes get the equal light up. Is it too hard to make all Iron Man figures like that Hot Toys, you cheap bastards?!

Good point, just checked my Bones fig and it's def. nice. For Mark II and III diecast they should have gone for a new switch & LED placement on the closed helmet...the "slide" design where you have the switch on the top of the head works much better and on these helmets the lightining is usually superior. I just noticed on Mark II that the eye LED is also fading / dimms down after about 2 - 3 minutes...also something they never really optimized.

There are ebay sellers selling day 1 release figures in hong kong...you will pay about 30 - 50% more...in this case def. not worth , so i would not bother. Some of the ebay sellers make business outside of ebay and make it a bit cheaper.
