I can't swear to it, but I think the blue chest plates is a call back to a What If: Civil War story. Tony dies before it starts, and the government starts attacking Superhumans with modified Sentinels. Steve takes Tony's armor and repaints it in Cap colors. Otherwise I don't recall the patriot armor having a diamond RT.

@@JustinsCollection No, since it's just one of Tony's suits. Norman's suit doesn't actually have a chest RT, it's just a painted white star. The Model 2 does, but that's Rhodies armor, and it's painted closer to the MCU version.

@@Sole-Knightmare It definitely is at least capable of firing a subpar unibeam. Peter had said something about how that star-shaped design caused excess heat build up and he'd managed to crack it in just the right spot so that it backfired and failed to fire on him. This happened in dark reign - the list: the amazing spider-man. I did thumb through that what if civil war comic and the armor looks different enough that I don't think that's why they included it... I have a sneaking suspicion that they included that pentagram shape because they also plan to make an extremis armor using this same mark 46 base...

Justin, the most famous users of this armor in comics; Norman Osborn, Rhodey Rhodes and Toni Ho. You could probably put any head sculpt on it and say it is "multi-verse" version of the character. With all that being said, this is a fabulous, limited figure. Thanks for the review!

Iron Patriot looks great. I love the metallic red and blue. The paint application definitely pops. However, it's really disappointing that Hot Toys has to resort to reusing parts from prior figures. It's no excuse, especially given how expensive the Iron Patriot is. If Hot Toys are going to charge $425 for an expensive figure such as this one, then they should at least utilize a completely different body. The light-up option for the suit itself is more complicated than it needs to be. It should be more streamlined instead. A Norman Osmon head sculpt should've been included. I wished that the shield was die cast. Despite the numerous issues, it's still a nice piece. I already have the Avengers Endgame Iron Patriot, which I'm a huge fan of. Thanks, Justin! @OUTLAWKILLER I don't blame you. With tax and shipping included, the figure is going to end up costing close to $500, which is a lot of money. It's a nice looking piece, but the price is rather absurd. On the other hand, the Avengers Endgame Iron Patriot costed over $500 at the time, but it's an absolute beast of a figure.

What I like about these types of things…it’s not a 100% comic book version nor is it deemed as a Norman/Rhodey/Ho figure. I like figures like this because I can make my own story for them in my display!

I pray they're not planning to use this same model as a base for the extremis armor. I have a feeling that's why they included that blue pentagram shield... They'll use that piece, a new helmet, maybe new shoulder pieces and the rest of the model 46, perhaps.

I know. what makes it standout from the 46 and 47 is its paint job in the movie it is a deep shiny red and gold. Also the 45 is just a tad bit bulkier then the 46 while still remaining almost as sleek as the 46 and it has a lot of the same qualitys that makes the 46 so popular. The only reason I think it isn't as popular as the 43, 46, and 47 is because its from age of ultron which isn't the best avengers movie and its over shadowed by the 43 which if i'm not mistaken had more screen time in the movie.
