KZbin collecting community has been a pretty great thing for me. My family and friends really don't get the Hot Toys thing as they call it collecting dolls which drives me nuts. So it was great to see there's a whole bunch of people just like me out there collecting 1/6 action figures, NOT DOLLS dangit. Only one more Keco episode this year - slacker lol.

I collect 1/6 and I also call it “ collecting dolls “ lol “ aCtIOn figures “ is literally a term made up by MATTEL to sell dolls not only to “ girls “ but “ boys” as well 😅 It’s all dolls , for all intents and purposes .

I've got the GameToys Ichicho and their Death Note figures and they're stunning. My L came with 2 right hands and still waiting on a replacement, but other than that they're a perfect company. Easily my favourite third party producer

Many years ago when I was in my college bookstore I found cash (I think $20 bill). I took it to a bookstore employee and later when no one claimed it I was contacted because it went unclaimed so I was given that cash. I think that is similar in spirit to your sunglasses story. 😀

For the setting rules section personally I think its a must. I couldn't imagine if I didn't follow my own rule set. My rules I set for myself is Star wars prequels. Now it doesn't mean I won't make some stretches. Like Kenobi Vader is a prequel so I grabbed him because I really wanted a Vader or my Jawa as another example. Now I will never have a Luke unless its baby Luke or anything like that. Clone wars has always been my favorite star wars era so that's where my collection mainly is from. The other rules I have which unfortunately falls for a lot of separatist droids or even the clone wars versions (anakin,obiwan and even ahsoka from... ahsoka) which is for now its not worth getting and I will pick them up down the line. Now do I really want to break some of these rules... all the time I really have been tempted by a Venom figure or a Xenomorph... which I might end up breaking at some point but we will see

Will, you need Clone Wars Palpatine. IMO, this is full power Sidious at his most cunning and evil. He is hiding in plain sight and is fooling the entire Jedi Order. Also, this is from one of the best duels in Star Wars. With Savage being announced last week, he is a must have.

Again being canadian sucks. I won 2 figures during that spooktacular event but shipping and duties/taxes works out to like $120 each . So free figures for that black friday sale really have to bs something im interested in cause its not free but heavily discounted

My rule for pre-orders is if haven't ordered it after 5 days I don't really need it or am not as emotionally attached to the figure as I initially thought, case in point the hot toys beetlejuice

I agree with Keco, the likeness is way off on the Darth Sidious hs, it looks like an older/more wicked version of a guy called Gaetano on a YT channel called IFTV (Italian Football TV). That said, the expression, detail/ageing effects are very impressive - just as they are with Dooku, OG Obi Wan, Tarkin ..., but if you were to do a side-by-side of the head sculpt and a film still, you'll see that the eyes are inaccurate and that the face isn't gaunt/thin enough. The overall figure is great though.
