Olds 442 W-30, Ferrari 348 and the Mercedes-Benz Unimog are my favorites here. The Metal Flake paint on some of these is so very much 90s: i don't think you'll see glitter-paint on 2020 Hot Wheels cars nowadays! An age gone by i guess. Thanks for showing these Hot Wheel oldies loose!

Too freaking cool my friend, I used to go for all the variations, the only thing is it takes up a lot of space. I still do get them with a newer cars if I see it but I don't necessarily hunt for them. I remember when the Olds 442 came out, it was badass then and it still is. Fantastic show my friend, looking forward to the next one.

I am a variation collector myself. I'm just about done with the blue card series. I personally did not think that the "all red interior" in the Ferrari 348 #226 existed. I did find one on Ebay about 6 months ago. I bought many of his extremely rare variations fairly cheap. There was a few that I paid for. The Green Dodge viper R/T with chrome 5-Spoke #210, i paid $210 for USD. The red Mazda MX5 miata #172 with screecher wheels $200 USD. I honestly thought that the screecher wheels variation was a misprint, but i was wrong.
@wtffor4 жыл бұрын
Amazing how expensive some of these variations sell for, I too have paid far too much for $1 cars in my time :) At this point I am becoming extra selective as to which cars I'm willing to spend money on... the Ferrari 348 red interior would be nice to ad to my collection, but I don't think it's worth the high price tags I've seen due to almost no one knowing about these variations anymore, let alone actively hunting them.
@racecar29334 жыл бұрын
@@wtffor i got extremely lucky on the all red interior Ferrari. The collector was selling all variations of #226 in one lot. I paid $47 USD for all. Don't think most who look/bid knew that it was a rare one. If i come across another one, I'll send it your way.

Didn't see anyone comment on the 442 casting question, I believe the answer your looking for is Warner. The early castings where reissue of the original Warner motion pictures Demolition man collaboration with Hot Wheels. This original casting was a Red 442 and has Warner cast in the base, your full blue card yellow variation shown should be that exact same casting. Why it was changed and the casting altered completely yet slightly im not sure, but i would guess it had something to do with Warner and the licensing although the new casting still has Warner in the base. But under close inspection you can see the base on the later version was changed as well, mostly just where the spacing is on the Warner name is located. In addition to the fender opening being different, the body was taller hood changed and it got window drip moldings making it a all new casting. Hope that helps clear that up. Fun Rare fact, the early or original Warner version of the casting was brought back in 1995 for a Super Rare AZ Outlaw HW cub car that was exactly like the Demolition man deco but in plain orange paint vs red. This dismisses the rumor of the original molds getting destroyed as a resin for making the later altered version of the casting. As always, keep up the good work, you are a staple in the hobby!!
@wtffor2 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you so much for enlightening me on the details of the 442 casting. It's so cool when someone knows as much as you do about a certain casting, how did you ever figure all this out? Regardless thank you for this information I will make note of it and remember it for future videos.

I would imagine that the acetone would easily damage the tire so probably not too eazy. I say this because I was removing the tampo from a 2017 or 18 blue trans am and I accidentally touched the tire and it left a mark!

What do you know about the real riders series with rubber tires? I have a few, just curious if they are rare or not
@racecar29334 жыл бұрын
They are harder to come by than most hot wheels made that year. I don't know if you are familiar with "treasure hunts"? The real Riders Series could be considered as the first treasure hunts. Real Riders Series came out in 1994, and the first year for treasure hunts was 1995. 1994 wasn't the first year of real Riders. They were around in the mid 80's and they are worth more than the 1994 Series. I believe the green Corvette is worth the most, followed by the pink 1959 Cadillac.

So what's the different between the faded blue card and the blue card?
@wtffor4 жыл бұрын
Solid blue cars were released from 1990 to 1994, collector #'s 1 through 274, and the cars on blue and white faded cards were released in 1995 with collector #'s running higher than 274, sometimes the same lower numbers as Blue Card cars but with wheel variations
