I LOVE THE CHEVY EL CAMINO !!! My wife and I own a '76 El Camino and I have been trying to collect all the die cast ones I can find. Didnt know Hot Wheels had so many different years. Thanks for the info.

I agree with you, and would have to say that the El Camino with the twin jet turbines is my all-time favourite HW model. I saw a picture on another site - and immediately looked on ebay, and bought four; two black ones [it's an evil looking machine], and two blue treasure hunt ones. I like that it's a real car, that will do 400 mph, and was used in a full size corkscrew roll stunt. I love it so much, that the real one is my computer wallpaper. I did think about 'Mad Maxing' one of my others, but I can't, it's way too cool. On the real vehicle, there is no passenger side headlight behind the red surround, which makes me think that it might be a camera, or perhaps an intake for a speed recorder. The black model's licence plate is the 'HWTF' logo. It does have hood pins, and airbrakes sculpted in the rear sides of the body. I love it.

My favorite El Camino is the First Editions from 2001, i got it from one of my Grandparents for Christmas. She got it at an antique shop. :3

ok,I know this is a long shot. but I am in search of that el camino but in the team hot wheels high speed wheels version. no one seems to have ever seen it. I have seen the packaging on sites but unable to find it anywhere. I know the series released in 2011 and 12 but I have been able to find other models here in the states and internationally. any help would be great.

There are a few models which were released in the last batch are very hard to find. I suspect that Mattel suspended production and those may be very limited. The remaining stock might have wound up in Asia, Australia and Mexico. I know that Monster Dairy Delivery and Ford Fiesta were in that batch as well.

Say, RaceGrooves, do you remember when many of these coupe utilities first came out back in the day? They became an instant hit with many of their new owners, they called them "car-trucks" and other names, but the proper name for these vehicles is "coupe utility" as I mentioned above.
