Agreed with elite64, the price just kills them, especially from outside the US. I was hoping a company that has so many resources, relatively speaking, would be able to offer prices at least comparable to POP Race, if not as inexpensive as Mini GT. The cars are nice, and would be worth it at half the price. At $32 Canadian, they're over pretty much everything else in Premium 1/64, except some of the most expensive stuff. However, they've chosen some really interesting cars to make, so that's something.

I'm in Canada and the Elite64 are $41 CAD now - they started off at $25 CAD. When you factor in shipping these are simply too expensive for what they offer.

They are 24€ +10€ shipping for me as a German, If i buy 4 of them the total price is 26.50€ each, for that money i can buy an Inno64 model with shipping from a german Onlineshop. A MiniGT is 13€, a Greenlight 9€ and the Pop Race Mercedes CLK GTR 16.50€. I would not Order an Elite64.

"Elite64" is not 1/64 scale. was very disappointed as this was my first time buying one. I like yourself, got it bc of the car. This car is smaller than Mclaren F1, not to mention Hot wheels McLaren F1 is are already like 1/62ish model, yet side by side its the same size. Unfortunately for me the scales is a big factor and for naming this with the marketing and implying its 1/64 was very misleading.
@drzautoscale
@drzautoscale 8 күн бұрын
Looks like you mistook 3-inches for accurate 1/64 scale models. If you have both Hot Wheels and any scale models like Kyosho, Tarmac, MINI GT, INNO, etc, you can compare them by measuring those with digital caliper.
@cornelstrutu1866
@cornelstrutu1866 8 күн бұрын
@@drzautoscale that's a problem, because elite64 was supposed to be true 1:64 confirmed by a HW designer in a lamley interview
@VICTOR101-jn7rs
@VICTOR101-jn7rs 8 күн бұрын
@@drzautoscale It literally has it in their branding. It doesn't say "elite 64ish" or "Elite 3-inch". Cannot agree that I mistook it, its misleading. If we are to go on calipers and be so accurate Mini gt is also inconsistent. it is not noticeable but if you bring up the calibers you can see mini gt 1/64 scale is off. this M6 GT is really noticeable, like 1/4 in. off.

Elite cars are (at least in the US), cheaper than RLC, and much much better cars in terms of realism, accuracy, detail and number of parts. I bought 3 Elite cars for $14.00 each, when they were put on sale with a promo-code. I see Elite 64 as equivalent to the old 100% Series (remember black?!). I predict that a few years from now when Elite is gone, many collectors will regret not buying these cars from Mattel, and now having to pay extra for aftermarket prices. Thanks for the video.

The price is the only real issue I have with Elite 64. These should NOT be $20 each. $15 would be reasonable I feel, with MiniGT being $10-$15 for the most part. I've been saying since the line started that the Elite 64 line feels like a resurrection of the old Cool Collectibles/100% line.

You should include tax and shipping as well. With reasonable assumptions the cost of the cheapest elite64 is $23 each. I get most Mini GTs for $10.27, Tarmac Works $10.73 and some TLV below $20. TLV Nissan 180SX is $17.19, TLV 1972 Skyline 2000GT-X is $19.04, TLV 400R is $21.81, Pop Race 400R is $13.62, Pop Race CLK was available for $17.31. Not to mention older Inno64 for less than $14. Not to mention a select few Mini GTs for $9.23 (Huracan STO and R34) All prices shipped to my door. elite64 is half the car for twice the cost. Sure I can see buying some cars that I cannot get otherwise for less than $15, but not $23. Not to mention the lack of a storage box. HW is still running on nostalgia, but sooner or later the flame will die down. Pun intended.

For those complaining about this particular collection, Mattel already makes Hot Wheels that are like the Mini GT's, and that have actual rubber wheels (they're also recreations of famous racing cars as well), IIRC.
@Championdjk
@Championdjk 8 күн бұрын
Mattel really makes nothing like Mini GT. Mini GT is a whole other philosophy of how to make diecast cars. They focus on realism. Hot Wheels are stylized to look like Hot Wheels. Also Hot Wheels makes what I would consider more a tribute to a racing livery… not a true replica of a car from a particular race like Mini GT

You said that the gap is what it is....but, just a few videos ago, you reviewed the Pop Race Mercedes CLK GTR, at a price of $18.99 brand new on eBay, which I did purchase myself. The panel gap is NON-EXISTENT on the front and rear bodywork, which is removable, and attaches with magnets. My son, after seeing my CLK, bought a Pop Race Rx7.

I love the McLaren. I ordered it because it has very nice details and I really like McLarens, although I had never heard of this model before. The discovery, although it doesn't interest me, has many details and is a good idea. Perhaps the idea of multiple accesoiries could be translated into a street car with interchangeable front and rear bumpers, as well as spoilers, rims...

I like Elite 64, I like that they only cost $20 (for now!), but I only collect the vintage stuff. (But even with that rule, I happily let that Bugatti slide. I guess there's a such thing as TOO vintage for my tastes!) At $20, this is an underappreciated line. That chip in the rim of the MacLaren is easily fixed with a Molotow Chrome Pen. Yeah, we shouldn't have to fix it, but it's an easy fix if it's going to drive you nuts.

This reminds me of BM Creations. I bought a few models early on, because of the different configurations possible. It was interesting but I quickly realized I would rather have separate models looking different, like what MiniGT have been doing with their Land Rovers, than having to do it myself. Not to mention that all these extra pieces make for ugly packaging. As for the whole Elite64 line, there is nothing Elite about it, it is too expensive and they can’t even stick to true 1:64. The only plus this line offers is that they do models that other brands do not make, like this rather pretty McLaren.

The major problem of elite 64 is they don't have an IDENTITY. Honestly rlc is not good enough compared to cheaper but detailed brands, minigt, tlv, pop race, etc, but they are unique. You don't see gorgeous plating in those brands. But features of elite 64, moving parts and slightly more paintings/details, are accessible everywhere...So I'm happy to pay for rlc, but not elite 64...

Too funny. Was going to comment if you want to see work & overwhelming? Try accidentally dumping the entire 2 levels of clam shelled accessories all over your black work counter. First you have to try & find each tiny piece then you have to figure out how to put them back in that 2 level clam shell thingy. I leave these things stick out of the box for just this reason.

Hot Wheels def missed an opportunity not doing a race livery on the McLaren. Still well executed. Overall, I appreciate the efforts to improve the line. But, the vaule to cost just isn't there for me. Like others have said, the line needs the McLaren model's build quality and details at a $10~15(usd) price point. Edit to add: The Mod Shop kinda strikes me as another cost cutting measure, similar to self-checkout lines. Just my opinion.
