That Mustang definitely looks like the most impressive Elite release so far - they almost should have launched the line with that car rather than the last two more “normal” releases.

It's alright for a 1:64 scale model. But the one from Briscale has far more intricate detailing, including spare wheel in the trunk, fabric seat textures and fairly detailed engine bay (everything opens)

So far they have over promised and under delivered on the Elite64 line. There are other brands like the car you mentioned that have far more detail - and for a cheaper price too. Hopefully future Elite releases will have some more detail on top of what they are already delivering now😎

Man, it is not very alright. Tomica Premium (similar price) has way superior finish and superior decal print. HW decal always look horrible low-resolution and sloppy. They DONT EVEN HAVE PROPER HEADLIGHT! Tomica Premium has BOTH real plastic headlight and break Light, with open parts, AND working suspension. In my hand now is a BASIC Tomica Nissan BlueBird SSS, even on basic line, Tomica's finish and decal are light years ahead of HW Premium.

I think the elite line got off to a slow start, but they are getting better with each model. That being said, I know a lot of people that feel the same way about the line and are waiting for a casting they really like before dropping the $30 or so on one!

The chaser was alright and maybe it’s just mine but they look like they didn’t really do quality control on their new “camber wheels” the ones on my car barely roll and the back ones aren’t even straight (No I don’t mean the camber they’re legit crooked when you roll them)

It looks hand-painted, at least in places - we’re used to factory precision and personally, I’ve never been convinced by handmade stuff.

@@64Wheels That's super weird because you can clearly see the brush strokes in the numbering and the pieces stuck in the door look like brush hairs. Do the machines use brushes?

Anyone know the exact paint code for this car? Is it RAL 7016? I think it is.

According to Mattel the paint is officially called “Graphite gray”. No idea on the actual paint code though.

Love your reviews 👍 I'm dissapointed that I simply forgot this one and can see that the doors were done correctly and that, IMO makes it worth it. I recently received the Lamborghini Countach from the SelectionS Line of RLC and man are those doors a POS... paid 46$ and waited 6 months for a badly done car 😤😡 imagine that!!!! Don't particularly collect Mercedes but would've love to get this one.

I have been really disappointed in the RLC quality lately - like you mentioned, some of the fit and finish on pretty expensive models is not good. What’s odd about that is mainlines and other older off-brand diecast manufacturers use to have moving parts as a regular feature and most of them worked pretty well…so why a modern, top-tier level diecast has issues with moving parts is a mystery to me. I have the other colors of the RLC Lambos and I will say the Elite Mercedes doors are much better than the Countach’s - hopefully the Elite line design will rub off on future RLC designs ha.

I do think they priced these about $5 too high, or $10 too high once shipping is added. $28-30 for a car that comes on a blister and has paint issues is definitely too much.

I like hot wheels but mini gt, inno64 and the other Asian brands just blow hot wheels out of the water at this price point. I would like to see mini gt or inno64 do there version of this Mercedes and it would probably be incredible. The Mercedes elite is not worth it at its price point.

Agree. I’m not sure why HWs is having a hard time with the premium lines lately as they have mastered mass producing diecast of all price points and detail ranges. If these cars were sold retail for $15 I think that would be a better price point for them, and no shipping cost.

The HWs Elite line is supposed to be ultra realistic, their most realistic line. Regular mainlines and some RLC cars are stylized in “Hot Wheels” style, but this line is not. They did a good job with this casting though as it does look very realistic, just needs some attention to detail and it would be even better!

I thought they might supposed to look like that too, but unfortunately it is a paint error rather than the styling design. I went and compared it to others on KZbin, eBay, and the Hot Wheels website and they are all nicely painted smooth numbers 😢

I got mine a few days ago & I wasn't impressed! Rather disappointed. It looks better out of the package, sort of. Nope, not worth the $20, so I'm going to be very choosy about which future ones to get.

Same here. The car’s design is done well and the doors function very nicely, but some of the details like the iffy tampos and poor roll cage look takes away from the “elite” feel of the model. Especially the paint issues on a $30 car, definitely unacceptable.

The paint is a huge miss for sure. For being an “elite” model, there needs to be next to no errors or paint issues etc. It feels like they are trying to do elite level stuff with less than an RLC car budget.

Hot Wheels all have terrible details when looking close, the print job is always horrible. Their only advantage of Premium line over other similar-priced manufacturers is creativity with their own modification instead of just simply clone famous liveries like others. If I go for details, I will never buy HW Basic or HW Premium at all. For the same price in my country, Tomica Premium line and MiniGT are superior in every aspects to HW Premium, except creativity.

MiniGT is absolutely killing the game right now on premium paint jobs. It’s crazy how much better a $10-$15 Mini GT looks compared to a $30-40 Elite or RLC car.

Yeah. I cant express how disappointed I feel when I see HWE first time. My old Kyosho 1/64 is superior to HWE in all aspect (yes, ALL). In my country I can buy used Kyosho for 4-10 USD, so, used Kyosho is best bang for buck. MiniGT is surely stepped up the game.

@patrolduty8715 Kyosho cars are excellent! I have the Lamborghini Miura, Fiat Dino, and Firebird from Kyosho and they are so well done - agree they are some of the nicer 1/64 cars available.
