Well done, bringing this one back to life! Yeah, I think one can appreciate the beauty of the paint job far more without the excessive amount of decals! Cheers

Yours turned out MARVELOUS like mine did. I didn't have a problem restoring my 7 dollar Ebay "steal" as i had my childhood magenta in mint condition. It did take almost 15 years to start on it though. LOL I returned it to itz original blue and upgraded the wheels from other RL purchases that didn't have the pedigree as the 442 does. The only thing I had to buy was a repro spoiler and decals. It turned out GREAT. I even had a couple of 4 hundred + dollar offers for it but I LOVE it too much to let it get away, plus it looks Kool next to the magenta one. Thanks Paul as these are the kind of builds I like to see. Stay cool and take care !

Great Job! I've seen people pay crazy money for cars that a re broken and raggy cause they are original and thats what that want but there are people who will pay the same money for a restored car when they look nice like this. I've sold a few I restored for good money, Not what an original in the same condition would bring but more than it was worth before I started. Thanks Paul!

Looks AMAZING as always! Paul, I have a original Olds 442 that belonged to my father he used to put up train displays at Christmas time and this was one of the cars that I loved to see displayed. My Olds is purple in color or Magenta in color mild toning and the base is in the same shape as the green one was, this car has been in the family since 1971 when my dad bought it new, it doesn't have stripes on it but it doesn't matter this car will NEVER BE SOLD AT ANY PRICE. ITS TOO SENTIMENTAL TO ME. How much would you charge to restore it? I can send you pictures with your Ema address. Thank You, Mike

If you're not using Spectraflame paint, do you need to buff and polish the metal?
@DiecastGraveyard Жыл бұрын
It helps the Spectre flame finish look better if it has a nice smooth, reflective surface either through polishing or through the SpectraFlame silver basecoat

Hello . What did you charge to restore the green olds 442 ? I
@DiecastGraveyard3 жыл бұрын
Usually for a restoration I charge $25 plus parts. If I include a custom card with it, I can charge up to $50 for that

It looks great Paul.That pillar would have bothered me til i fixed it.lol.Screw the purists.They need their heads examined for paying 500-1000+ for original examples. My collection of restored redlines look better than any original. This casting and a bye focal are un- obtainable anymore.
