Matchbox made two different colorings of a diesel engine based on CSX and Santa Fe markings. People were talkin' about a return to the old Trains line from the seventies and eighties. They put out those two engines-- and literally nothin' else since.

The Heavy Railer mainline! I have the Santa Fe coloration of that casting too that I may do a video on some Thursday as well! It’s pretty well done!

You can put the car under that orange top part of the trailer. I had one of those with the Bone Shaker in it.

I tried to put it under the main part but I didn’t think about the flip-part - good to know! With some of these older releases I don’t want to pull on things too hard I’ve I’ve done that and broken them before, esp when I’m not sure if the part really does move or not ha.

West Coast Flyer is my favorite. One of these isn't based on a train, but a retro 80's 90's accordion bus. It connects like a train and the accordion might as well not even be cast-- it isn't made to even APPEAR to actually work-- but between the two halves it's a VERY nice retro bus design.

@@64Wheels West Coast Flyer is a 1950's inspired chrome plated passenger bullet set. I mean, it's a steam train, but they lower the rooves, round the edges, squeeze down the windows, ect.

Rapid Transit actually has somewhat of a legacy, for one the West Coast Flyer was originally from that line and was retooled for ID and now is in the mainline. Also, the Loco Loopster from the Track Stars Haulers line uses a similar connection to the Rapid Transit vehicles. And at the most recent convention a train probably for Track Fleet was shown using the wheels from the series.

Yes that’s the series I was thinking of but couldn’t remember the name! I have the Crooooze Batmobile and a few others tucked away somewhere. That era had a lot of differently designed cars that I actually liked. Like the Drop Tops, Hi Rakers, Torpedoes, Fat Bax etc. All very unique with some really cool castings!

The screws on the bottom are a nice touch - I really like when a car is a screw-base style rather than riveted because you can take them apart and see the details and for customizing too!

There were no treasure hunts or super treasure hunts in this line. Super Treasure hunts are only in the Hot Wheels mainline and but Treasure Hunts can be found in the mainline and monster truck line for 2024.

1:11 Sorry but in my opinion this is where you are wrong, HW collectors nowdays only thirst over licensed anything Take the new Track Fleet line for example. People only search for it to find the Volvo or the Porsche. And the Optimus Prime for some reason. But we all know why

Unfortunately, no, most Truckin' Transporter castings from back then don't have names. Very annoying, especially when trying to look up photos and listings. I think they only started naming them around...the Super Rigs era? Somewhere around there.

Like why would you make an entire line of castings without names lol? There’s several lines and lines of castings that don’t have names and they are so hard to find on eBay bc people will just kind of refer to them as whatever. I don’t get that whatsoever.
