Dawn is that type sister that brothers should be fighting over, breaking down the door for her to be apart of your life. you know what's funny is that it's women who are on here talking about her appearance. when Kendrick Lamar made that humble video i bet these were the same women complaining like he was a member of the Migos.
@JayySonataWTF7 жыл бұрын
Why is everyone being so negative? Y'all are listening to a strong black women that had to deal with racism from black people to the point where she felt she had to change herself. She then self actualized and realized she is beautiful The she was/is and is now an independent artist. She makes music that spans R&B and Electronic. She's breaking boundaries and doing things in technology to combine with her music yet y'all are here hating. Luckily she's reaching her own success and is very successful and is a hard worker. She's an inspiration. Y'all needa support black women like Tkay Maidza, Dawn Richard, Azealia Banks, Dai Burger, Junglepussy, Tink, And even other indie black women.

Black art takes many forms as long as you open your mind to it. Freeing your mind of the boundaries you create introduces you to a whole new world of black art and black expression.

All the negative commentators need to get a life. Dawn just talked about being yourself, loving how unique you are. Also talked about black girls in tech, and not fitting the stereotype, and still going hard, BUT all you seem to care about is her shades and her look..please, y'all are PATHETIC. Anyways love this interview, very inspirational for me esp as a black girl who is currently learning computer programming and had doubts. DAWN continue to do your thing

KayBassie i myself recently notice when black men put us black women down it's the 1s your speaking of . if youre not falling out your clothes, talking about penis, being loud, trashy or doing everything to bring black women further than what we are like our black women predecessors you're not worth their time. everything is about appearance or money. this is why it's so hard for those like dawn to become well known and respected like their no talented counterparts. you see it all day on social media , especially here on YT where they're co-signing low budget females and unbecoming behavior. i stopped trying to understand or respond to it. its the dumbing down of black women.

Fact is some people say they no longer like her because she isn't out here being some basic R&B singer. Dude those waters are overcrowded. Dawn's electronic sound has always been present and I love that she followed that path because its authentically her. She isn't trying to fit into some R&B or Pop cookie cutter roll. She is out here being herself and people unfortunately don't get that style of art. They think that sound is for weird white kids. And it's because their ears aren't tuned to anything different. When our radio stations are inundated with whack rap and the same old sound you have to venture out to allow your palette to taste something different. Dawn is and always has been thee truth!

DawnRichardNC ya know Dawn keeps saying she didn't know she had to put on this personality for tv but I truly understood who she was when the group unveiled their name and said that Dawn drew DK out. I was a kid living in the ghetto going to an art school for music with a book full of games synopses hoping to be understood. I'll always be disappointed that each girl didn't allow what they brought to the table to exist in this dope space in comparison to Dawns solo accomplishments but knowing Dawn is sacrificing so much for the eclectic brown kids out her is comforting and exhilarating. Best interview of this era!!!!

He truly is. He sucks all the money he can out of his artists and ditches them, thats why any artist that has signed with Bad Boy is broke. Diddy is the king of 360 deals. It's all because he didn't want them to have a voice; when Aubrey & D Woods felt that clout; they felt like they had more say in the direction of Danity Kane. I’m gonna side bar and say. What an amazing, beautiful, intelligent woman. I love her with her real but still respectful responses, everyone is an individual that shares all parallels. She sees everyone, and as for music I am not a fan of electronic etc, but my girl has still enlightened my ears with this art and still I play her music. Amazing. This woman gets nothing compared to the respects she deserves. 2 piece in the back of a chicks head or not she’s owning her stuff

DK3 was such a bomb album. I wish they could've worked it out because I wanted to hear so many of those songs live. Dawn was always my favorite from the jump, even before she made the group. I just knew that she was going to get in. Keep doing what you're doing because your material is so fire!

I can totally see Kelly Rowland and Dawn working on a MAJOR EDM record together. I really think Dawn rawness and Kellys sultry appeal would make it LEGENDARY !!!

Dawn is mutha! Point blank. She's ALWAYS PUSHING so I acknowledge and commend her for that aspect of her craft and for putting as much work as she does into driving her own creative dream! An inspiration quite simply! Stop living for the fueled hate and decide for yourself to welcome the love that's all around you people. More vibes!

I love this interview. Nessa is always on point with the questions. Dawn has always and will always be dope. I'm happy she keeps doing her thang. Last train to Paris was a fire album. I appreciate her honesty. I remember growing up I enjoyed alternative rock. My friends would ask "wtf are you listening to?" Like..music bitch. Needless to say I had to cut them off. Stay true to yourself..surround yourself with people who understand you and love who you are💜
