You thought we were getting Nettles? As a black man, I knew Nettles was cooked as soon as the Velaryons became black. HBO considers Nettles nothing more than "black girl on dragon", and they had accomplished that one back in S1.

Season 2 was solid, but it could have used a couple more episodes for a more impactful finale. I hope they address this in season 3. The show is building up well, but they need a strong opening, a compelling middle, and an epic season 3 finale to truly restore the House of the Dragon to its proper glory. I want this show to reach its full potential, and there's definitely room for improvement.

Condal hinted that season 3 is gonna hit the ground running, and agreed I wanted a little more by the time it ended, but I love the way it's been building up. I have faith it's gonna pay off, but once again, I actually love the progression of the first 2 seasons, it leaves you wanting more but delivered a lot at the same time. But of course, to each their own.

I've read some of the books so I basically know some of what happens. I really hope that they have more than just three seasons. I'd like to see Rhaenyra and Dameon's son's Ageon the younger and the other Son Viserys become king.

Ruined the show with two forced plots: the annoying prophecy no one needs on this show and that only takes away agency from the characters and the Rhaenicent relationship no one was interested in except teenagers on Twitter who don't even pay for HBO max. It was supposed to be a story about the Targaryen family tearing itself apart, not these two friends who weren't even friends for 20 years! Focusing on three characters who weren't doing anything interesting almost the entire season and sidelining the most active one (Aemond only got 20 minutes of screentime) was such an awful choice. Ryan Condal talks about making "exciting TV" but I can't imagine anything less exciting than watching Alicent doing nothing but looking sad.

I've read Fire and blood. And some of the other books written by George R.R. Martin. I know what happens. Hopefully house of the dragon will have more than just three seasons.

I predict alan is gonna get outted in season three. The towel he was wiping his blade on got quite the notable closeup that screams foreshadowing....I think someone, maybe lady masaria or connected to her or corlys will get ahold of that towel and it might cause a crisis with Alan or force him to become the heir of driftmark

Seasmoke took one for the team and volunteered himself as tribute for all the bellyaching about being entitled to being owed handouts and reparations from daddy Corlys that Adam was always complaining about. Alyn is the man for wanting to make his own way!

So how did seasmoke take one for the team when he took no Ls this season and he was always team black . It stays in the velaryons specifically Corlys' line . Ser Willem took one for the team as he did daemons bidding and although it was at daemons behest, it was willem who paid in blood .

I agree on Rhaena being the most expendable member of team black for me considering how she selfishly abandonded her baby brothers-- the future of the realm, btw. Idk how they fix the character after that. I thought Sansa was an entitled selfish brat as well, so others may disagree. And I love Nettles!

People can't compare this season to the last 2 seasons of GoT. I know season 1 was GOOD and this is season overall is OK. We had great moments and not so great moments but we didnt come close to the mess that was the last seasons of GoT.

I disagree, the season was decent overall, but it needed two more episodes. It's clear that episode 8 was not meant to be the finale. Yes there were some flaws here and there, but the writing/dialogue is still strong if we're being honest. A good example is Episode 2 the Otto & Aegon scene, and in the finale the Criston Cole and Gwayne scene.

I believe the writers were cornered by the episode reduction. It's not entirely their fault. With 2 more episodes this season would've been glorious. It was good, but it would've been much better.

yeah I don't understand everyone's surprise at Ulf lol. Every episode he's been a fun drunk, who has NEVER met lords and ladies before and has never had cause to meet lords and ladies. Why would you blame him for being colloquial or for trying to break the ice?? I think there's an inability of the audience (and also of the hosts of the podcast lol) to view the story outside of the perspective of the main cast, who are all heavily privileged and totally out of touch, and to avoid the fictional classism in the story lmao. Guy's literally was just a bloke from flea bottom a day or two ago. He's going to be rough around the edges - that, AND he's just a scoundrel. He's playing Ulf perfectly (which I don't think is in contention by anyone lmao) and it's well within character to do that. It's the same weird reverence that royalists give to the Windsors, in spite of their colonial ties. They're human beings, and shouldn't be treated with any more or less respect than anyone else.

This show wasn't given a billion dollars like rings of power but its still 10 times the show with 10% the budget. Clearly you dont understand the world. Keep moaning and they may just cancel the show and anything game of thrones all together. Its still better than 99% of the crap on all services these days. Either dont watch it or just stick with the crap that's currently on everything these days.

Maybe they should have given this show a few billions. But budget is not the only issue. You need actually competent and talented writers, directors and executives. Too late now. By the time season 3 comes out, you'll be able to make this show with a 100 dollars in a few days. So... I know how the world works, buddy. But I don't think you understand how badly they failed and what it could have been.
