Thanks! In the scene in which Helaena watches Aegon returning to KL, she wears a dress that looks dark red to black with brown neckline stripes, I found so different and refreshing for her. Then I realized it was actually the same dark green dress from the funeral, the filters and lightening that made it appears differently and tricked me.

Don’t even notice Rhaenyra’s costumes during the episodes. Emma D’Arcy just too beautiful and captivating to look at anything else but their face😅

Yes, she looks really amazing this season. Not sure if it is a better wig, makeup, lighting, Emma, but it sha always looks amazing.

I still twitch when I see Jace’s pennanular brooch, being *obviously” a non functional one! To use a real pennanular, you put the pin part through the cloak, and then rotate it 90 degrees so the decorative ring actually stops the pin part from slipping out and dropping the cloak on the floor! Other characters - notably Riverlanders - are using real pennanular to hold up cloaks.

I had made a similar point before noticing your comment- the other recent thing that annoyed me was in 3 body problem they had Tudor scenes and the costumes were well made but the person who dressed the child cross laced the dress which was obviously correctly made to be spiral bound laced. There are close ups. I would be so angry if I had made that dress.

Love these videos!! Lady Jeyne Arryn’s dress was gorgeous. Reminded me the tiniest bit of the animated Aurora/Sleeping Beauty’s dress when I first saw it :)

Yes, it definitely has a Disney quality. I didn't mention it in the video, but it reminded me of Buttercup in the Princess Bride.

The Frey women from the original series were dressed so badly because Walder Frey had such contempt for women in general. This was a man who had over eight wives; most of them young enough to be his daughter/granddaughter. He also had more illegitimate children than Robert Baratheon, which is a pretty considerable feet.

Love this video! It’s my dream to work in wardrobe for this show. I have a friend who worked on set and he said the costume warehouse was enormous! I find all the detail fascinating and truly shows the care the show creators take in putting it all together

The thing that annoys me most is Jace's penannular brooch which wouldn't function properly if worn like that with the pin in the gap. You need to rotate it to hold the fabric. They must know as many other characters wear theirs correctly (well almost correctly for some reason they seem to wear them upside down but at least it looks functional).

Lovely ring! The costumes this season are definitely an improvement, but nothing beats Rhaenyra's season 1 riding leathers, Rhaenys' season 1 riding armor, or Aemond's season 2 riding leathers. I love me some riding leathers and riding armor! 🔥 🔥 🔥

I am an adult Barbie doll collector and crafter. I am currently working on my House of the Dragon Barbies and Kens costumes. I used the Barbie Far Away dolls for my Daemon and Rhaneyra, and both have white hair. I used a black Ken Looks doll for my Corlys Valeryon and put grey braids in his hair. I used a Barbie with white blonde braids for my Rhaneys, the queen who never was. For the Barbie costumes it was easy as Mattel had did a lot of period clothing for Barbies. For Rhaneyra I have mine in a white dress with a black and red vest that has dragons going up and down it. For my Kens I had to look at Etsy shops. So, now I want to do Jacaryes, Baela and Rhaena. I will use some of your ideas from this video to dress these "teen kids". I will try to keep the cloaks and doublets as you have shown. I will choose simplier items as I am NOT a great seamstress. ( I only want to do the "Blacks" and not the"Greens", but I did like the Allicent and Aemond clothes.) For the House Sigil of the "Blacks", I purchased a banner and put that in my castle I built. I made a majority of the furniture, but am thinking of purchasing the "throne of 1000 swords". I found the throne at an Etsy shop for $300. (I am only thinking because I try not to spend over $150 on doll furniture.) But, I truly enjoyed your video. It gave me lots of ideas on dressing Jacaryes, Baela and Rhaena.

Any take on Daemon’s coat fabric these past few episodes in the leather doublet. The Geometric chevron-like textured pattern? The base layer that the rune stone iconography is stitched on.

Hi Logan, I am not sure but possibly leather makers D'allesio Galiano. However, it's not in their catalogue. Caroline has some good fabric sources that I am not privy to.

I miss Michele Clapton SO MUCH…. 😥 Remember when her amazing GOT costumes used to make us all collectively lose our minds as we watched them evolve to become more symbolic and meaningful with every single episode? These HOTD costumes are just clothes that kinda “Game-Of-Thrones-ey”. Sad.

That's what I have been thinking too. I used to screenshot the GoT costumes to magnify and drool over the amazing, gorgeous, needlework. These seem basic in comparison. Is it budget, or simpler because of the earlier era portrayed? Anyway, I miss the GOT costuming

Oh noooo! I loved the unique arryn look in GOT I can't believe they made it so normal dress now! (It's a beautiful costume don't get me wrong) but I was so excited to see jeyn in some form of wings. (In a more serious note of criticism I feel like her hair looks like every straight hair lady in the show. I understand that she's more serious in nature. but she and nearly every woman in HOTD wears the same mix of hair styles and it bothers me.)

I can excuse it because this is set many years ago, so the Arryn fashion probably evolved overtime to get to where it was in GOT; like the leaps from early medieval fashion with more basic shapes to, say, Renaissance fashion with much more complex silhouettes and more details/adornments

Adding this because I don't wanna just to hound anyone one person with my ideas unprompted. But here if anyone likes them. Like I considered if the past Arryns sewed feathers into their clothing like Sansa did. It'd be an interesting way show the house's different sensibilities through time maybe. I thought the show would come up with something even more interesting than I could come up with.

The costumes all look cheap due to lack of appropriate underpinnings. They're shapeless and frumpy.

They had proper understructures in Game of Thrones, sometimes the costumes were built on a foundation and the actors were sewn into their costumes.
