My dad had a motel in the 60's that had neon designed and installed by Fresno Neon. It was a beautiful. Every time he turned his back, some accident broke a tube. He finally gave up and abandoned the system. I remember one time the high voltage lead was arcing inside the transformer box. I made a jumper using wire core spark plug wire.

I saw one of the right angle drivers when shopping for other tools, it was about €7;00, I bought it and never used it until a year later. It was the only thing that could have done the job. The one I have is 1/4" square one side and 1/4" hex on the other, great little tool.

Wesley, have you every tried making a retro looking sign with these new NEON Flexible LED Strips? They seem to be LED Light Strips encased in a neon colored flexible tube shaped shell. Would be a cool video to see how you could make a retro sign using modern tech.
@WesleyTreat

I've had conversations with my neon guy about that stuff. They've used it before, but only at the absolute insistence of the client. Despite the manufacturers' assurance that its OK to use outdoors, the silicone breaks down over time, becomes sticky, and collects dirt to the point that it turns black. After a year, they end up replacing it with real neon. It might be OK for an indoor project, but real neon just can't be beat, in my opinion.

The chassis have wide tubes, very visible, makes a jam behind the sign. If the sign for night places, you must paint The chassis ( Black ), If the sign for places works day and night you should paint the chassis ( Grey or light blue).The light Control box also must be hidden from visibility, Anyway, Thanks a lot for your nice tutorial videos.

Well, lucky for me I guess that the aluminum is already gray. But, the look is intentional. As I pointed out in the video description, it's intended to mimic the scaffold-style signs that have appeared on rooftops for decades, none of which were ever painted blue: www.google.com/images?q=rooftop+scaffold+signs

When you move the pvc sheet to cut the next tile, how did you know where to stop and clamp it down again at the exact location for the next cut? I also haven't tried this before, always mystified me. I've seen some people use dowel pins etc, but curious how you solved this?

I just drew tick marks on the side of the stock at the proper intervals and lined them up with a tick mark on the bed. A straight edge kept the stock aligned properly.
