This looks identical to the Distended Stay that we used in Richmond, VA a few years ago so I wasn't surprised to find out that it's part of the "family." We nicknamed that one the Sketchiness Motel for a reason...

By the looks of that mattress, I'd say there was crime scene tape over the room at one point.......
@TheElevatorChannel8 жыл бұрын
It looked much darker brown in person, so I really thought it was just a spilled drink (still pretty crappy, but not nearly as gross). These comments are making me question if I actually slept on top of a crime scene. I would have turned the room down in a second if that really seemed possible at the time.
@georgef5518 жыл бұрын
***** If I saw just what you did, I'd turn it down, period. Who knows? It seems to be awful large for a spilled drink. Could've been one of those gallon cups, TBH.

Also, don't use Hotwire, they occasionally rip people off and if you have an issue you can't get your money back (according to reviews I've read).
@gladfan19898 жыл бұрын
As always, very thorough. I'd still be turning down the room, no matter what that stain was. Wouldn't take a chance. Other than the bed, still an acceptable room.
@22408aaron8 жыл бұрын
I guess I am going against every comment here, but I don't think that's blood. That stain mostly is right around the top of the mattress. I assume somebody was laying down with a soda or coffee or whatever and they spilled it all over the mattress. Can't be sure. Furthermore, I wouldn't be so "oh it's just a drink". You can't ever be sure.

I paid $37/night for an Econolodge in Mesa, AZ a couple months ago. Right by the light rail station to get into downtown Phoenix, though it looked to be a bit of a seedy area. As for the room itself, there were painting supplies stashed in a corner when I first got in, otherwise it was fine...

I have one near me, which is not a common occurrence. They rebranded it a little while ago to HomeTowne Studios (more inviting name in my opinion).

Since you travel so much, if you ever come to the Milwaukee area, the average nightly rate for all hotels around is maybe $110. Lowest I've seen was I think $48 but still most are cheaper than other hotels I've stayed at before in other cities

This room is comparable in size to the room where I stayed friday night., which was at a Clarion hotel. Swedish hotel roons are tiny compared to american ones, at leased the brands and chains that I have previously.stayed at.

Very slow. I've heard all Extended Stay America properties (including Crossland) use satellite-based internet regardless of their location, so that might explain why.

Really didn't look like blood to me in person (I would have turned the room down in a second if it did). Hope my judgement was right on that. That mattress should have been taken out of service either way. No reason a guest should ever need to have this debate in the first place.

+The Elevator Channel No. I wasn't thinking blood. Just seepage that starts to ooze out when a body has been dead for a few days.

@ryanherrera49777 жыл бұрын
I live in the same area as that hotel. Based on the type of traffic that comes in and out of their, the probability of that stain being a spilled drink is slim to none and is most likely the contaminated body fluids belonging to one of Independence MO's many many meth heads/prostitutes/junkies. In all fairness though the 4 other hotels up the road are just as bad. Full of dope, prostitutes and horrible reviews from unknowing out of Towner's. Sounds harsh but it's a sad reality
