I am currently seeing this place run at almost $1k per night during the summer. I booked a room with points but would never pay that much in cash.

I think the hotel may be holding those rooms at a high price in case a conference gets scheduled at the convention center and they can actually sell at that price. If they see no convention scheduled, they'll likely drop the price later on. Depending on how many points you have, it may be worth checking the price again about two months before your trip.

Is there any stop for ART in front of the hotel, trying to avoid walking to the toy story parking lot for free ahuttle

I believe ART stops on Katella near the entrance of the hotel in front of Walgreens. When I stay here, I always just cross the street and walk to the park entrance.

Is it true the rooms are dark & not well lit? I am interested in the one bedroom with two queen beds. Which side of the hotel is quiet.

Facing away from Harbor Blvd can help but some of the noise is due to thin walls so that type of noise will depend on your neighbors. Lighting is a little below average but I wouldn't say the room is excessively dark compared to other hotels I've stayed at near Disneyland. I've stayed in the one bedroom suite with two beds once before and find these two issues affect the standard rooms more than the suites. One trick if you're worried about lighting in hotels is to buy an LED that plugs into the wall and bring that as additional lighting. Hope this helps.
