Hotline Miami likes to tease, with multiple people getting so close to finding out what was actually going on, yet no one reaching the end. Evan was the closest to finding out the truth, but his pacifism led him to never digging deeper, after the abyss, he didn't want anything to do with the matter anymore.

In an alternate world where after Jacket throws the pipe into Richter he too starts to find a way out. The song progressively changes to different versions when you're Jacket and Richter. Soon the two of them arrive at opposite ends near the beginning with police outfits. Jacket stares him down not saying a single word, Richter sighs and thinks to himself that this time Jacket won't spare him. "Listen man I know you're under some deep shit right now, but I really need to get back to my mother. If I could take it back I would, she didn't deserve that.. I've always been curious though, did you ever find out who was making those calls?" Jacket just stares at Richter, before slightly shaking his head. Before Richter can say anything the swat team tells them to get in the back of the swat van, exchanging glances before Jacket finally smiles at him signifying he forgives him even now. Richter offers Jacket to leave to Hawaii, but Jacket knows he has unfinished business in Miami. Giving him a slight wave Jacket goes back to his robbed and broken down apartment building, looking at the same spot girlfriend died at. Not a single parting glance before he (I know it's dumb) puts on his famous jacket. He has a certain reporter he needs to talk to, and when he meets him at that bar, he'll find out that another old acquaintance will be there.
