Hey bud! Thanks for watching. Been a solid start and enjoyed the step up in build vs the other models I have built! 👍🏻🙌🏻

Thanks dude! Slow start as the gear box was more complex than previous builds for me but I also wanted to enjoy every step on this one! Thanks for watching my friend 🙌🏻👍🏻

Ah great start 👍 will enjoy this one and I think your slow, steady, get it right approach is spot on. I love doing the gearbox’s as you get to see how your car will work out a little and you get to know your car. Excellent 👌 stuff and I look forward to the next instalment 😎👍

Hi Andy, thanks so much for watching 👍🏻🙌🏻 The gearbox on the Hotshot was a real step up for me and I loved it! There are quite a few parts for this build series as there were loads of steps! Hope I have not over done it 😂 Have a good Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻

@@theoagrc no you’ll be fine my friend you do a nice clean build 👌 from what I can see. So keep up the good work and all the best to you and your family for the Xmas period 🎄🎅 have a lovely time. I’ve treated myself today to a couple of hop ups to get this TT-02b Neo Scorcher finished I got second hand. It’s a very fast car 💨😎 As I said I look forward to part 2 🔧👍

@@theoagrc 😎 so far I’ve just put new suspension on, the aluminium driveshaft down the middle, aluminium shock towers and aluminium driveshafts theses have all been quite cheap as I don’t mind waiting from China. There’s always things to do on other car and I’ve a couple of body’s to do. She’s brushless and I run her on 3s. I use the driveshafts on all my Tamiya’s there only £7 for a pack of 4 and you can dispense with all the plastic ones and cups then. I’ll post you some part no’s at some point have a good day my friend 😎👍

Hi there Craig, so glad that you’ve got a Hotshot, awesome RC, it’s great that you stuck into the build bags immediately. Just like the good days of Tamiya! Just love that Tamiya did that, the more modern kits are more Bag A,B,C per section of the build. Enjoy every section. For my metal bearing I put my metal bearings only into a warm bath of Team-ZX1 micro oil. You have to warm the oil to over 60C for the bonding process and this provides the bearings with friction reduction and wear resistance. Great guide through the steps. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. 😉😊😉
@theoagrc3 жыл бұрын
Hi there John. Thanks for the suggestion on the bearings. I will take a look into the ZX1 micro oil. I want to make sure that the cars have the best possible shelf life albeit they are going to get run on my track a far bit and maybe this is the least of my worries 😂 Thanks so much for watching my friend and wishing you a great festive time 🎄🎅🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

Thanks Addam, it has been a absolute blast and I can’t wait to get it running. The winter in cruel this year as we have had lots of rain so very little chance to be outside working or driving! Hope you and your family have a great Christmas my friend 🙌🏻🎅🏻🎄

Cool video, Craig. I'm paying lots of attention, because this is my next project (kind of). So a special thank to your tips👍👏 For the pinon gear you can use a classical aluminium pinion gear, maybe you got one laying around from some old car😉

Hey RC Birds! Thanks for watching and glad you are enjoying…. Sort of 🤔 Looking forward to seeing what you got! The one I have used looks like it has meshed well and it sounds great! Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅🏻 🎄

Very nice Craig!!! Most all bearings come with oil or grease already in the races but a shot of motor cleaner (electric RC motor cleaner) will clean them out then you can use a light oil (of your choice) to lube them up again (Acer Racing makes a great bearing lube, "sin lube" I think its called). As for the pinion gear (if they are 32 pitch) Robinson Racing Products makes steel pinions, I use 13 tooth steel pinions in my Clod Busters from them, never had one fail or wear out. Awesome build my friend, Great start!!! Happy Holidays to You & Yours!!!!!!!!
@theoagrc3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob, thanks for watching bud and for the advice on the bearings. I am going to go on the hunt for some oil for the bearing on future builds. Glad to know that my pinion will be ok. It is an awesome build and one that has waited a lifetime! Not sure what to put in the bucket list next… probably a Turbo Optima! Loving this RC though and it has been a joy. Have a good one my friend and stay safe 👍🏻🙌🏻
@UncleBobsRC3 жыл бұрын
@@theoagrc I never said your pinion will be ok, just to be clear. I was saying IF it is a 32 pitch gear, the Robinson Racing makes good steel pinion gears. Sorry if I confused you my friend.
@theoagrc3 жыл бұрын
It is a 32P and I am sure that from my limited research it will be alright. If it wasn’t in no way would I be holding you responsible 😂 Getting any parts here in the Uk is so tough at the moment. Usually I would try and get some Carson parts for pinions but they are sold out everywhere!
@madmustangrc2143 жыл бұрын
Man I dont know I feel like I have built one of these before strangely familiar lol. Great start coming along nice. Only I would watch out for is that pinion hitting the gear box should be ok but check it.
@theoagrc3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the watch Madmustang. I checked the pinion wasn’t up against the gearbox inside as I was so concerned about the fit and mesh of this one! It sounds great and should be hard wearing (there was a load of grease used 😁) Hope you have a great holiday period my friend 🙌🏻👍🏻
