I think it's the first time I actually watched a build video with this buggy, mostly just seen run videos. I think it is definitely a strange chassis. Your video got me thinking, the "perfect" 4wd chassis is probably near to a Tamiya TT-02 or Kyosho Fazer, but it took them so many years to reach this, so of course they had to go through all these weird designs to get there. It's really an interesting piece of engineering history, you got there! For me, personally, I am totally crazy about the tyres! I still haven't been able to buy me a set, but I want those tyres, ha ha, no idea what to put them on... Anyway, have a great weekend there, my friend!
@AddamsPlayground2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there was a lot of trial and error back in these days. They were trying to find new and better ways of doing things and some worked and others not so much! Even the TT02 has its own issues as the ground clearance on it is really only suited for the track and not not as much for a fun runner in the grass and stuff. I think we can find flaws in almost every kit but that is great as it means there will be more and more kits made trying new things and working to get it perfect! I wish I could help but back then aluminum hop-ups were a thing of hopes and dreams! That stuff was pricy back then! I have heard they did really well on the track but most racers did not like the limited adjustments of the suspension tuning. I also heard a lot of track time and you usually started breaking the chassis is it got stressed from all the jumping and it is not the most supported attachment points for the front and rear. I don't have any prior experience with it as this one is my first one! I just love it looks fast and looks like it already won the race just by its stance!!!

I swear those ball studs are supposed to be on the underside of the steering area.

They are, I got them flipped now. It works much better now LOL!

Are you building a kit every 2 days? 😁
@AddamsPlayground2 жыл бұрын
LOL! I wish! I did have a few kits come in recently either through back orders or things I found and scooped up and I had some time off so I did get a few build done back to back. It just aligned to where the build all came out right after another. It is going to dry up soon and there will be more running video and other content coming. I still have a a couple kits coming (backorders and a couple great eBay finds!) but they won't be ready for videos for a few more weeks.

Seems odd they put the motor mid chassis

NM...The first picture made it look mid chassis. Ignore me

It is all good! BTW the front steering is wrong and I need to flip the ball studs to get rid of the bump steer! I will get it fixed, brain took a break on that part I think! So, no worries on your comment, I made an entire video of the car and didn't realize I had goofed up the front end!!

I swear the oil is a 40 weight.
@AddamsPlayground2 жыл бұрын
It seems thicker than that. I run thick stuff in my crawlers 60-80wt and feel more like those!

@@AddamsPlayground most of my kits come with the 40 weight.

@@bradkalman2353 the springs are super stiff but the fluid itself is think and the piston movement is very slow but hand. At least twice as much resistance as a normal shock.
