Homecave buff counters saltwater depletion,get homecave buff first, drink saltwater, refresh homecave buff or wait out saltwater timer, careful with homecave debuff. On consoles assign autorun to L1-Something, so you dont sprint into water when collecting.

Also unless you are past a certain growth stage sub adult or adult you cannot use any skin you buy until you have grown enough. You will always have the baby skin until that time, in official.

A few things I learned early as a new player: 1) trust no one. Anyone with any dino of any age can and will attack or hunt you. 2) game/server bugs and issues are common and just a way of life right now. Get use to lag, getting booted from the game (crash), picking up items or action prompts not working, ect. It's a work in progress, so it's far from polished. Also you may have to adjust the settings on your device to help ease some of these frustrations. Choosing a server with a better "tick" rate will help also. #3) Most servers restart every 4-6 hours, which can be frustrating if you just got logged in. They do post when this is going to happen, however, so you have plenty of time to log off and save your missions/progress if need be. #4) Don't be afraid to try servers you havn't before. You'll often be pleasantly surprised. #5) Don't get miffed if you're killed or have trouble surviving. It's a survival game mostly, after all. Sometimes you'll just plain up starve to death and that's the way it goes. Hope these help other new players and have fun!

Good points! To add to the tick rate bit: For those not aware, high tick rate (closer to 60) is better, lower around 0-20 can be unstable depending on your connection to the server itself, but will often see people teleporting due to lag

@@kevinbailey1632 I never had a reliable enough machine to play The Isle, but from the videos I've seen through the years it's very similar in mechanics. I play on mobile so PoT was the first dino game I really got into. I've loved dinosaurs ever since I was a little kid and still find it almost unbelievable that they were actually real and not some made up movie monsters. Of course some are still around, but few look like they once did. I think I'll always love them no matter how old I get. ^-^

One thing I hate about official is that it takes 8 hours to grow (without dying) and getting all the skills especially when you don’t have a tail attack at the beginning.With this get that attack fast it’s key when your not a expert in fight with weirder hit boxes than your mom- Also when playing online if you ever see a player with either albino or the mal turn around and walk away .WHY? Because those skins coast 10k each and that means they at least have Played for HOURS and I mean days on end and not in “Oh they just have been playing for some days ,so what?” NO they have been playing for over 24 hours and not counting playing for said day ,I mean playing the full 24 hours .With this Rex,trikes,spinos,megs,allo,and crocs are all to be weary of because they are almost all going to kill you,and trust no one .

Normally i go into a game looking stuff up but path of titans is a type of game were the tutorial does an amazing job telling u how to survive the basics now for the actual game surviving amongst other dinos are the real challenges

Dangggg Velocci spoke facs. this is a good tutorial. not a noob but I wish I had something this informative when I first started out. another tip for players though is to find a friend that can teach you more thoroughly! like a friend on a server you play that gets on at the same time as you. thats how I learned how to play the game and combat.

Also I have heard it and haven't tested it fully but, Once you reach Sub Adult, you can not revert any lower upon a death. Plus you start dropping Trophies when killed at Sub adult that give out 1 entire bar worth of growth towards your next level. Killing juvis and adols realistically just being mean and spiteful imo. Since subs and adults give trophies and incentive. Versus pushing that new dino back sometimes UPTO 2 bars of growth. *Yes, I lost 2 bars of growth on my STILL Adolescents Rex*. Just a little tip there. Also I am new to the game, been playing 2 1/2 weeks now. That Rex has been an absolute nightmare to try to grow, versus a laten and metri I've gotten to adults already in the same time. Home caves though, something I found out as a new player is that your health and stamina do not regen inside home caves. I've ran into one trying to get in before I called it a day, logged out and still had the same stamina as when I logged off the next day. Sleeping didn't help.

questing to grow seems like such an odd mechanic for a dino game. I could understand the "eat X number of X" or "mask scent with X" and things like that but picking blooming dandelions as a Trex, really?

Great tutorial, i have not bought the game yet but it looks interesting. I was a "The Isle" player but found that game terrible due to the lack of food and the long dark nights being around 15 hours of each day. Game did look amazing but the game itself is pretty poor to play, much better to watch on KZbin. This looks much more user friendly and engaging. Cheers for the video 😊

I just bought it and am having fun but the question is very limited and soulless. As a spino i am picking 35 flowers, then grabbing 35 rocks, then trying to find 5 turtle shells, then grabbing 35 clams, then grabbing 35 milky mushrooms, then get 35 button mushrooms, then get 35 lake sponges (in the ocean) then spend 10 minutes walking north to meet your gf that you just bought the game with. Besides that we are having a lot of fun, you can't see your skin until you're halfway through subadult so for the first 5 hours or so of gameplay you have a preset child skin so don't think your game is broken if you do pick it up.

6:41 UPDATE, as of the most recent patch, on official servers, your quest will usually auto complete and not remain in the quest list. There seem to be a few exceptions, such as if you leave the quest zone but still complete the objective by collecting resources outside of the quest zone. I've only had a quest remain in the quest log 3 times since update. They usually do not require manually collecting the rewards, but it's worth checking to make sure you don't miss a quest completion and the associated growth and marks. You basically can't store quest turn ins anymore and can't save turn ins for after a death.

The quests collecting automatically is random, so some quests will be saved on your quest list and some will not

I hate how people say "so you dont simply grow while standing in a bush" as if hunger and thirst isnt enough motivation to move around and survive Growth system is stupid, unlogical, boring and tiresome, youre forced to do lifeless chores that dampens the simulation and sense of playing and surviving as a dinosaur and ruins the game, growth should be challenging, but still in a more logical and immersive manner, not like this I regret buying this game, and whoever feels the same i dont recommend it

If you're playing the free mobile version then you'll need to buy the coins to unlock the dinos. Alternatively, you can buy the pc/mobile version and have everything.

If there were ai dinos single player would be great. I think official servers are the best place to start. You might get toxic players (looking at you, pachy players), but it won't have toxic server admins and you won't lose your dinos if the private server goes down.

I’m dead broke and can’t afford to spend money on games, and the only way I know of getting other dinosaurs is spending money. You should have brought up that on realism and Semi Realism severs that grouping with creatures not within your own species is against the rules and will get you in trouble very important to know about realism or semi realism community servers

Incorrect, it takes 20 hours to grow a dino, as you kneed to move places for more quests, and you have to scavenge around for items like pinecones to fomplete said quests. My advise if you want to have fun is to stay away from official.

Depends on the dino and the server you're playing in. Multi-player and Single Player are both pretty slow. You'd have to play for 6-8 hours steady with no breaks to grow your dino to adult in a day. Most Community Servers have fast grow, which is always included in the title of the server.

Official serves give around 30 seconds of growth a quest, if in a good area can do it in 6-8hrs as crypt said! Community servers have varied rates :)

Note to all : the process to getting into WWD can be gruelling. - You need to first of all gather a lot of rule information, there is 24 discord rules, 6 different PoT rule categories with about 4 rules each (varying.) you need to read all of them at least 4 times to memorise it well. -Next, you can optionally ask questions about the servers rules, if you don’t get anything. I highly recommend this. -Once you feel ready, apply! There is a website offered by the team specifically for new WWD’ers, where you need to explain **thoroughly and honestly** why you feel you are a good candidate to play in WWD, explaining through all the “why…” questions in paragraphs. You also need to provide age and your PoT name + ID. -You get 5 tries to apply, so don’t worry if you are declined! -If you manage to get accepted, Welcome! You will see many fellow actors (myself included, ELduckEnjoyer)! There are many other channels (PoT rules, Reporting for when you feel a rulebreak has occurred, nesting so you can be parented to adult, profiles you need to respect and follow.) I hope you enjoy WWD once you have been accepted! If not accepted all 5 times, not worry! Many other realism servers offer special immersion to depict dinosaurs as proper animals! (Mesozoic, Arazoa, Obsidian Jungle are just three of many!) I hope I did well!

Does anyone know of a passive growth or slightly increased growth server with no modded animals? Or at least with only Mesozoic (or Mesozoic-feeling, like megalania or kelenken) and fairly realistically modeled animals? I don't like seeing weirdly modern or fantastical animals running around. Weirds me out. I also hate the utahraptor mod because its feathers just look... pasted on... but I think I could handle a server with that mod, it's far better a model than some others
