I have an old 4500 psi Pressure Washer with a Cat Pump, and a 16 hp Wisconsin Robin on it. I paid $100 for it back in the 90's well used then. The oil in the pump looks the same as it did when I got it, and other than a pressure regulator, and a couple hoses, I haven't done anything but use it when grimy stuff shows up.

We had a hotsy we bought used in the ninety’s ran it for 10 years very little trouble. We replaced it with an alkota due to losing the hotsy dealer. Currently have 2 hot water machines for cleaning our dairy barn and equipment. Our newest one was about 7000 for a 4 gpm at 1800 psi

I have a Hotsy from 1996. Mine is electric and I have had a few issues with the burner . Haven’t had your luck but still agree they are the best made .

G'day Jeff, On another winner already , get 2025 off to a nice start , You invest in that yellow paint ,might as well put a fourth wheel on the beast . Respect...!

A nice project since you are handy with a welder. Build a frame in the front like on the back and mount two wheels. Put a hitch on it and you could pull it around the lot with the Super Dodge. Just a thought.. Nice pressure washer.

Have one we bought froze for 400, put a new coil and all new blankets on the floor and around the inner, soft white heat blanket. Also upped the burner nozzle by 1 and really makes some amazingly hot water. All the blanket I got was from ebay.

Those simple little tea kettle burners is what I call them, I hated working on them when I did heating and AC but they will run forever if you do the yearly maintenance. All of them will cause soot and it will build up over time it’s just the nature of the beast. As far as dangerous oil burners are far less dangerous than a natural gas or propane. I’ve seen the belly’s of oil boilers laying full of oil and when lit off the oil will just burn from the top. Natural gas or propane you get the belly full of the right amount of gas and air and add a spark it gets quite active. Its just a matter of the right adjustments of the electrodes, placed the right amount of distance to the air defuser, a good spark and clean fuel and the right fuel pressure and air and your making heat. Yep Jeff wins again, he just never gives up.

Nice job jeff, those electrodes are a pain in the butt. I do facilities maintainance and alot of boiler p.m's and those took me a few years of trial and error to learn. If you need i have some electrodes that may help if you need them. I dont know your size but im sure i may have something for you that can be used for spares. Just let me know and we can email.

Frank decided to parachute into the Paydirtarosa. On the way down his chute failed to open. As he fell down, Jeff passed him on the way up. Frank says, "Jeff! You know anything about parachutes?" Jeff answers, "Nope! You know anything about old Hotsy steam pressure washers?"

Might be y u had to hold the box open arching the contact made a hotter spark because it was shorting. Like cleaning up a fouled spark plug on a vehicle by holding the wire of the plug.
