This isn't a well made product, and for some reason these are still being manufactured. HOTT sells them for $50 on their website...This SAME MODEL.

Those striped Duracell batteries are “OEM batteries,” they are the type that come with products. Those batteries are probably pretty recent if they expire in 2034, Duracell AA alkalines supposedly have a 10-year shelf life.

Thanks for the info! Never seen them before, that's probably because most things don't include batteries anymore. (removable ones, or if they have removable, they don't give you any)

I bought an adapter set of them on amazon a year or two ago to try with LED strips but I've never seen them being included as part of a real product like this... Didn't know they worked like that lol. But I guess all those power supplies are is DC converters so if the device needs only 5v then why not usb!

I'm pretty sure that switch is specifically for hold mode. When the switch is on hold mode is on, when you switch it off, hold mode is off. *edit* I actually went back to when you had the manual open and it does say off is unlock. It could absolutely been more clear on the device, though, and I see where the confusion came from. If the switch was labeled "lock/unlock" it would have been much more clear.

Brother, this was kind of painful to watch. I'm hoping that you noticed after filming that there's a dang sticker explaining the switch right under the switch. The switch has an OFF position (as in, turn OFF the hold function) and an ON position (as in, turn ON the hold function). There is no middle HOLD position, HOLD is just telling you that this is the HOLD switch. It should be turned OFF to operate the CD player.

@yennyquadro well said! That was my takeaway too. I was confused why it was backwards!! A well made and quality product wouldn't be so backwards...It's not using it incorrectly, it's just bad design.
