New subscriber. I’m primarily a clothing shoes accessories reseller so I would like to learn more about hard goods. You’re a treasure trove of info! I don’t have a bins near me but still think it’s valuable to hear the kids of things selling because you never know.

Hi, I just wanted to reach out. Please reconsider how you ship the mustang. If I had paid $300 for something in a box that would be perfect as a display piece in a collection I would be very upset if it came damaged in any way. If it were something like a printer then yes, I can see the reasoning for shipping it in the original box, but this is not that. I have been selling on ebay for 24 years. I haven't heard people talk about this in a long time, but if you included the box in the listing, it becomes part of the item you are selling and also needs to be protected in shipping.

I appreciate the concern. This is the third plane that I've shipped this way without any complaints. To buy a box of this size to fit the box in would cost at least $60. Trust me I had it quoted. The shipping company in my town actually told me to do it this way. And they do this professionally 🫣. If this was an item that was in Christine condition then yes but this box is 30 years old and it shows.

@@desertsellers As long as you are comfortable with the risk, that is all that matters. Like I said, once the box is included in the photos it becomes part of the product being sold. If that box arrives damaged (or not in the condition represented in the photos) you are opening yourself up to the risk of an INAD. Even if the shipping company advised you to ship it that way, they are not ebay, and they are not concerned with your reputation on that platform, and they are not concerned with a good (or bad) buyer experience. I guess I'm coming at it from a different perspective. Again, as long as you are good with the risk you made the right decision for you. Have a great evening.

Sorry to say, but I agree. This is why I came to read comments to see if anyone felt as I did. If I paid $300 for anything I expect it in a box. You don't have to purchase one for $60, just frankin box a few large shipping boxes from Walmart around 2-3 dollars a box. I would have spent $10 and made a great box. Or a golf shop probably has boxes for free. Love the content, Jennifer. I'm just worried that the buyer may have an issue. If we didn't care about you we wouldn't have said a word. @donnad97 I appreciate you looking out for me. I'll keep you guys posted if he mentions anything. The wrap that I used is meant for moving companies. So it's pretty thick. It creates a decent protection around the box. Not your typical Saran wrap 😜

How do you decide when to charge shipping and when to do free delivery? When you do charge shipping, do you do calculated shipping?

Great question. I let eBay decide. When the last items sold have free shipping I have to match that. It's usually the items that I am finding at the bins because Amazon had free shipping so then when it goes on eBay people also have to do free shipping. So I always base it on what the last sold comps did. But when I do charge the shipping I absolutely do calculated. Being in Arizona I want to make sure I'm charging the correct amount for somebody up in New York or Florida.

Just learned my lesson the hard way about bin deals. (I just started reselling), and it was to not assume something is new because it looks sealed 😂 thankfully it was only $3 day. Our “Treasure Hunt” Amazon bin deal place cherry picks the very high end stuff and I’ve only been in there twice and only found one decent item so far. What’s your secret to finding the good stuff??

Sorry you had to learn that the hard way. I think we all have 🤣🤣 My first one was a pack of pokémon cards and I thought it was sealed but they cut the side so cleanly I couldn't tell it was opened. And that was a $15 day item. Now we all know to look closer. So there's no secret it's just consistency. The more you go the faster you get and the faster your eyes will move across items. I like to grab the items that initially catch my eye and then look them up later. It's the same style when I go to a estate sales or church sales that are busy. You won't be able to go back and get it so grab it while you can. Happy Selling ☺️

Hello. So it is priced per item per day. So on my favorite day Friday everything is $15. No matter what it is big or small it's $15. You are able to take the item over to the testing area to make sure it works and it's complete and not used. At that time is when I look the item up to make sure I want to purchase it. I have a video probably 6 months ago when I went into the bins and a lot of people didn't like how fast I go 🙈 it's a rush so I'm walking fast up and down aisles trying to grab things. So it's not everyone's cup of tea to watch that chaos 😆

I go to the bins usually 4-5x a week. I spend on average 2 hours there each time. Every weekday I do my local thrift for about 30 mins. Goodwill is rare so I don't count that. Thursday through Saturday I spend about 3 hrs a day in the mornings so we are close to 20 hours a week of just sourcing. Some more and some less. Thanks for watching ☺️
