Thank you Entagma! After dropping off of Houdini rather quickly a few years ago, I'm now getting back in the groove of learning it, in no small part thanks to you guys. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your work, kings. I have a hard time sticking with the consistency of learning Houdini and so I fell off a couple of times but this time I feel like I'm gonna keep pushing!

0:39 “In many ways Houdini is much more similar to an IDE” - Interesting. I am a software engeneeir that has done 3D out of passion since teenage years. I always stayed away from Houdini as it was proclaimed to be incredible complex. Now I have the feeling, that it might be closer to my natural software / programming environment of Visual Studio, VS Code and IntelliJ 🤔 obviously making it complex to none-coders.... thanks... you literally just flipped a switch in my head ❤️ really appreciate your high quality content; greetings from Berlin

Found your channel last year (I think) with your emerald 3D sculpture and it instantly turned me on to Houdini. Unfortunately only had a Mac so not conducive to learning. Fingers crossed now eh? By the by, when I hear your voice I think of Mordin from Mass Effect.

Heard about Entagma recently and have loved following through so far and have understood quite a bit than what I did in my institute. its great, easy to follow for beginners and also great to understand the workflow of Houdini. Will always recommend this to anyone who has started Houdini. But a question about the Nodes actually, how does an artist know at which point does one need to place a Dopnet or Popnet or Attribute Wrangle etc? How do I know when or why to place Dop or Popnet or Wrangle or Popsource nodes? hoping to get a better understanding on this.
@Entagma3 жыл бұрын
Heyhey, thanks for the kind words! As for DOPnets / POPnets - they're called differently for historical reasons I assume, however under the hood both are dopnets, just pre populated with different nodes for each respective application - so you might as well just use a dopnet. Same goes for the attribwrangle - a point wrangle is nothing different than an attribwrangle set to run over points, a primitive wrangle is an attribwrangle set to run over primitives etc... Cheers, Mo

Can someone use solely Houdini for modeling, texture, rendering? or is it better just for VFX?
@Entagma3 жыл бұрын
"Can"? - Yes, definitely. "Should?" - Well, that's a totally different thing :D Cheers, Mo

Will any body please motivate me to learn Houdini? My point is why should I learn it, even though it is not free for commercial usage for indie.
