UPDATE 2: I made this work! I used the serumizer from MAC as my primer which works as a serum and moisturiser in one and is much more lightweight but gave me the little bit of moisture I needed in my dry areas and I applied the foundation with a sponge. This worked so much better and sat much better on my skin. UPDATE 1: I tried this without any primer and it worked much better. When I applied cream contour on top, it did not move the foundation underneath and it sat very well. It also sat better and looked less cakey. I set the whole face, but it does still feel tacky, especially under the chin, even though I powdered there too. I’m sitting here nine hours after application and the tackiness is getting worse.

By coincidence I bought this foundation without reviewing it. I had been using Jones Road WTF. I am 67 and actually found that it does not sit in lines, I am happy with it. It does look beautiful on you ! Thanks for your balanced review

@@janeberrisford8555 i’m glad this is working on you and from the feedback I am getting this seems to work instantly on some people & cause problems for others. Yesterday I finally found a way to make this work easily on me, I use the serumizer from Mac which is a very light serum and moisturiser combined into one and I applied it with a sponge. Happy Birthday 🎂! Thank you for putting up this review so soon! I’m pretty sure the primer affected the outcome. I think the foundation is meant to be an all-in-one: foundation and skincare (with glowy finish). I bet skipping that primer and pairing the foundation with powder and setting spray will yield totally improved results. I think you can powder your whole face next time. The problem this time is that the combination of the primer and foundation was too emollient, so putting powder on top of that goopy texture kinda creates mud which will def result in caking. Same thing kept happening to me with the Danessa Myricks skin tint! But once I accepted that it simply wouldn’t work with my glowy Elf primer (even though everything else works with it) and paired it with the Danessa Myricks matte balm-it’s beyond gorgeous. If skipping the primer doesn’t work, this might be a dud.

They all pulled yellow. This doesn't sound like it's my thing. Can't stand tacky & yes it would go cakey for me trying to set it.

^If you tried it.... how would you compare it to their other skin tint? I love it, but always wished it was more glowy. And, it worked for my dry skin pretty well without having to do much skin prep. This one being glowy is attractive( and will help me skip a glowy primer), but hate SPF in skin tints. but if its mostly similar to their other one sign me up lol.... also can't wait to see if you try the new Laura Mercier Dewy tint!( use to love the OG until they reformulated it and their regular tint is so matte on me and bad for dry skin... so may their new "dewy tint" be like their old formula!

This gives much more coverage than their skin tint and definitely works much better without any primer underneath. I have tested it again since and it did work much better that way. It is more glowy and luminous than the skin tint and it emphasises pores more so I do need to powder a lot if I want to use it. I’ll look into the LM tint ❤️

I‘m fair with natural undertone… But shade six is way too dark for me. Hmmm i think shade 4 or 5… but i‘m not sure. My hg skin tint is shade 4

If shade three works on my fair skin, you might find that anything more than three or four might be too dark ❤️

I would recommend swatching on your cheek going down your neck compared to swatching on your hands. When you watch professional artists that’s how they tell you t pick your shade and undertones because your going to get an accurate match compared to your hands which are completely different shade and undertone as your face and neck.

Thanks, I only swatch on hands to film a close up, I always apply to face/neck if I’m able to test in store, but I usually order online. Luckily with this one it’s a perfect match, I just need to find a way to make it work for me, I’m looking forward to testing it more ❤️

Yes, they are very similar, but I find this one a bit more tacky and difficult to manage and much prefer the Dior one ❤️

Happy birthday! I gave up witht he ambient foundation, the number 2 was too light, and the number 3 was bright yellow. I think the shade 3 in this would work for me, but the coverage isn't enough for me. Still waiting for Clarins foundation to arrive. They are very slow at dispatching it. I pretty much stick to cool undertones. But beware the makers that have their cool tones as bright yellow (looking at you Gucci)

No, the new Dior gives a similar glow and level of coverage but I had no issues with it lifting and it wore better but I do feel I need to test this more and hopefully find a way to make it work better ❤️
