So glad I watched this before buying!! It kind of reminds me of when Laura Mercier tried the "glowy" finishing powder, it was too shimmery to set your under eyes or whole face but not really shimmery enough to be an actual highlight so it's kind of like.. What do I do with this??

*I think hourglass wasn’t talking about that powder because it is geared towards light-medium skin tones and they didn’t come out with one for dark skin tones. So I think they were trying to avoid getting dragged for not being Inclusive. That’s my opinion*

I just bought the radiant bronze light and the incandesant strobe light powder LOVE IT also love defused light and the blushes I am happy with everything I have from them. Appreciate the review. I don't know why but I just like the guerlain meteorites better on my skin. I never use the ones I have. The color is good for me but the shimmer, not so much. I do like their powder in a jar. The mascara wand looks like the type that works for me. Definite consider. Thanks!

But I think what you did of bringing us out with you set a different standard when reviewing a product. With all the filters and studio lights used in the creation of videos sort of distort the true color or finish of the product. Thank you for posting!! I was soooo tempted to buy without seeing a review but the website said it was mixed with the strobe highlight which is glittery on my skin. I felt like the glitters in this powder would be obvious if I buffed it all over my skin. While I love diffused light, I do notice glitters on my face when I buff so I was even more apprehensive. I emailed customer service and they said the three shades are diffused light, dim light, and hypnotic strobe light (which I guess was in a limited edition palette at some point). I say I might pass but I’ll probably change my mind in a month lol

I was really hoping the powder was more golden as advertised in the image online. It’s really light and I have a medium skin tone. I love hourglass i truly do as they’re one of my favorite brands but they’re really pissing me off with only catering to fair and light skinned individuals like the model spokesperson they have on Instagram. It feels like they don’t even listen to their customers. We’ve been begging for singles of the powders from the unlocked palette of the last two years but it’s been crickets.

I was shocked with this release as well. Caught me off guard and then yes! I thought it would be darker as well. Then, when I first put the powder on I thought it looked nice but when I got a closer look at my skin I felt that it looked dryer 😓

Tara Lynn It looked more silver to me then gray, especially when you went out into daylight. Your cheekbone looked very silvery and reflective. I adore the Hourglass ambient lighting powders. They even outthe skin tone without being super obvious. I get more compliments on my skin since I started wearing it. It love it because it doesn't over highlight where I'm starting to sag. I'm 53 and I don 't have wrinkles but where my face is changing I had to make sure I wasn't highlighting say my nasolabial folds because it makes them look more pronounced.But this I can wear all over because the shimmer is so fine that it's just literally diffused light. Every moment is golden hour. CAn't love it enough. It's my holy grail. But if this isn't right for someone they have other products that will compliment different skin tones

I was initially interested in this powder but then I read somewhere it's basically a mix of their Diffused Light, Dim Light and strobe powders. I have all three of those powders so I suppose I could mix them myself if I wanted to (I mix Diffused Light & Dim Light all the time) 🤷‍♀️ I'm fairly light skinned BUT I'm also in my 40's so I've got the texture & fine lines happening. Thanks for trying this powder so I don't have to. That being said, the mascara I definitely want to try! Loved the long lashes & fanned out look it gave. I'd love if it worked that way for me. I purchased it and trying it out today! Let’s see how it wears. I’m a light complexion and sometimes in the summer light/medium. It doesn’t look gray on me at all and honestly is extremely similar to using the Ambient Lighting Palette and mixing all shades together. If anything it just has a slightly lighter tone but thankfully the color works well with my complexion!

Hi Tara, I much about the mascara. As far as hype goes. There has been a lot of “new” mascaras within the high end area imo. Guerlain, PML, Marx Jacobs & Hourglass off the top of my head. I’m the most interested in the Hourglass one but I haven’t oredered it yet because I don’t like plastic brushes. I find them poking my eyes and I hate that feeling. I hope you are doing well! 💖💖💖

I don't wear face powder only undereye setting powder, the PMG and love it and it's undetectable but if I did I I wouldn't buy this powder as I have no wrinkles until I smile and then they're not around my eyes but further down from my orbital bone from middle of undereye area fanning out on cheekbone and this would be disastrous. I stay away from shimmer on the face only liking the dewy hydrated look I can get from Tatcha dewy setting spray to the sides of the face and the more moist cream blushes as not powdery. Thanks for the review. I am medium - tan, and tan in the summer. I don't understand cosmetics companies that are not inclusive in their products. I only own a sample size of their Veil setting powder. Until Hourglass starts bringing out products for darker skin tones I cannot buy their products.

What a powder too lol I didn’t even know they released a new ambient powder! The mascara looks promising though! I did not like the caution mascara lol I wanna buy the mascara but I just bought the huda legit lash 2 weeks ago maybe... so I’ll wait but I do love the fanned out lash look! The tarte maneater mascara is really good for length too it’s one of my top picks!

Hey Tara! I think they did not talk about it because again this powder does not cater to people beyond light medium skin stones. I am amazed that brands are still doing it.

I watched Charlotte Holdcraft’s review, and she had a similar opinion. What’s crazy is that on camera it looks like the most beautiful powder ever. It made her makeup look amazing, and it looks outrageously beautiful on you here. It’s bizarre that it looks so good on camera but so unflattering in person! Maybe using a less dense brush would help soften the impact? Thank you for being honest bc I would’ve believed you if you said it was the best thing ever.

I just watched Charlotte Holdcrafts video she has a similar skin tone a s you she ended up using it as a setting power and buffed it and it made her skin look flawless. Maybe try that and it will work better for you and you'll be able to get a better use from it.

I think I’ll stick with the Hourglass ambient lighting powder in Dim Light and Diffused Light. I have Luminous Light in a palette and it’s is a pretty highlighter. 🥰

I think the powder really just depends on how much glow you like and your skin tone. I’m fair/light. This powder is not for me, I prefer just the ambient lighting powders for a finishing powder. I watched Charlotte Holdcroft’s review and she was expecting it to be even more radiant and glowy and was a bit disappointed by it. The mascara I’m very interested in. I like the fanned out lengthened look. By the way, you look fabulous and your skin looks pretty damned flawless to me 👌

Great review, hopefully they bring out more shades because it's clearly only made for light complexion ppl. At first I really wanted it because it's a new Hourglass Ambient powder, I'm fair skinned and 35 so I'mma pass on this.
