I figured out the 34 lifestyle for a while. Now my company went to forced recaps. I'm having to learn how to overcome the struggle of restocking the truck, washing clothes, I use to do an in depth pretrip on the weekend, and try to get a truck wash in when I could. I don't know how to get those things done on a work day. I'm also more tired recapping.

Are you allowed to do a sleeper berth split? Maybe taking a 2 hour break would help you get what you need done.

I was doing the same thing when I ran full days. Now I'm on 8-9 hour days and there isn't a big exciting challenge to get there asap. It's like an office job.

I'm going to have to listen this again. Such a great video. Between this and JJ the trucker I think I've got this HOS thing down. I've spent years in transit as a bus driver but we weren't required to really pay that much attention to hos because that was regulated by station agents. Anyway, great info and thanks for all you do!

With only 8 hrs of drive time, are you always able to meet your appointment/deadlines?

Great question. I’ve been with Prime 10 months and have never been late because of my time management. Only because of weather or something like that. Driving 8-9 hours a day, generally speaking, and managed correctly, will not cause you to be late. I’m usually early everywhere - between 3-12 hours early.

Actually your circadian rhythm is after you’ve been asleep for a certain length of time your hormones that is your cortisol levels start to rise and make your blood sugar increase and that’s what wakes you up that’s why you do not need an alarm clock if you go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the exact same time every night
