What a fantastic video! Choice of locations, videography and narration are all top notch. I absolutely love this line. You captured so many great shots. Yes, the jointed rail sections look rather gnarly. I fantasize about taking the New Haven to the Berkshires back in the day. West Cornwall is one of my favorite locations. One could conceivably chase this train on a bicycle! Thank you for making this video!

CT owns the Berkshire Line from MP50 to Boardman rd in New Milford then from Harrybrooke park to Berkshire Junction. They’re are plans to rebuild the Berkshire Line according to the states infrastructure plan

The Housatonic appears to be a "sad sack" railroad. They had grand plans to restore passenger service from Danbury, CT northward to Pittsfield, MA. Maybe they ought to repair the track they use for freight before they even consider passenger service.

I mean, for freight service, the tracks they have currently are just fine. For the most part, customer service on the railroad is exceptional with 6-day a week switching if needed. There is no need to upgrade the tracks if the service on said tracks doesn't warrant it. While the MA. upgrades have been exceptional I don't think it was a warranted use of state funds.

NX-12 on weekdays is usually on duty around 5 and leaving Canaan around 6. Getting to New Milford around 8-9. NX-10 is on Duty at 8. Usually leaving shortly after NX-12’s arrival. NX-11 is usually on Duty around 7:30. I believe they work north of Canaan first. Then work within Canaan yard limits for the duration of their day. NX-13 is on duty around 5ish. Leaving shortly after

Yep. Track in CT is not in the best of shape. Massachusetts trackage however is much better. A good portion of it is CWR

id love to see virtual railfan put a camera up in a few places along this route. maybe with those we might have scenic rides and lots of fixing along the tracks. ive been a huge fan of the line and always wanted to ride all the way from norwalk up to canaan. but again if we can get the word out to virtual railfan that would be epic and something the railfanners that live in that area. #NEWMILFORDVIRTUALRAILFAN2022

I don’t know about a virtual Railfan Camera. I’m pushing for More Rail service and more generally better Railroading. Not so much on Railfanning. However I would like to see passenger service or scenic rides to Canaan like the Berkshire Flyer. But it all comes down to putting the Railroads first
