I thought the point of the thermasteel panels is to eliminate sheeting?

Thanks for watching! They're mainly just structure and insulation. You won't be able to secure most finishing materials to the foam and steel directly, so sheathing gets you that solid layer to attach things like siding or shingles. Also, the panel seams are not super tight, so an extra layer of moisture barrier is nice.

@@harvtronix interesting. I’ve been thinking about using their package as it’s advertised as a 4 in 1. Would you say you got your value out of using their system? Economically speaking

Eh, I think it ends up being about the same as any other system honestly. Sure, they're energy efficient and go up fairly quickly, but what you gain there, you lose elsewhere. For example, additional electrical installation time, additional wire cost, etc. Most contractors I worked with said their job would have probably been quicker and cheaper with stick framing and spray foam insulation.

@@harvtronix yeah I’ve heard that before. I was thinking about doing all the running and placing for mechanical trades and just having them hook everything up. Seems like if you plan it out enough, it might make sense. Any chance you could connect me to your rep?

Best of luck! I unfortunately don't have the rep numbers anymore. I got shuffled from person to person since in the middle of my project, their main investor pulled the company funding and they had to lay everyone off for a period of time so they could argue over what I presume were stakes in the company. I'll also note I received a couple damaged panels which they eventually offered to replace, but I would have had to pay the shipping cost of a few hundred dollars. Also definitely do NOT get the roof panels. I'm pretty sorry I did. Should have been a red flag when I asked how I was supposed to secure shingles to them and they literally told me "just turn up the air pressure on your nailer." that's a great at way to get someone injured in a hurry.
