Netanyahu who has bragged about this you can look up videos on this that he is proud that he killed the old government and economically supported Hamas so that Palestine would never be able to become a state. Then you have decades worth of slaughter they call many of them the Nakba. At least 20 plus significant dates. Prior to the 7th you also had settlers slaughtering over 500 children in the West Bank that very year and thousands held in detention camps for years without trial some as young as 7. Multiple International Charities described Gaza as an open air prison and Israel admittedly controlled everything coming in and kept the Palestinians on a just above starvation calorie diet. Then you have all of the settlements where the Settlers were prior to this stealing, and threatening Palestinians while kicking them out of their homes like armed gangsters. But of course this started on 7 October 2023.
